Great mini snake
This snake cable delivers solid performance and reliability for a budget-friendly price. The 26AWG wiring provides clean signal transfer with good shielding against interference. Each channel is clearly numbered on both ends - a crucial detail that makes setup and troubleshooting much easier. The molded strain reliefs are robust and should hold up well to regular use.The TRS connectors have a secure fit with good contact pressure, clicking firmly into place without being overly tight. Three feet is an ideal length for rack-mounted gear, helping minimize cable clutter while providing enough slack for comfortable connections. The jacket material is appropriately flexible without feeling cheap or prone to kinking. For a budget snake, the build quality exceeds expectations. The solder joints appear well-executed, and the internal wiring configuration maintains proper channel separation. It handles both balanced mono and unbalanced stereo signals cleanly, making it versatile for various studio applications. One minor consideration is that the cable diameter makes it slightly stiff - not an issue for most installations but worth noting if you need extreme flexibility. While not boutique-level construction, this snake provides excellent value for home studios, mobile rigs, or anywhere reliable multi-channel connectivity is needed without breaking the bank.

Perfect patch cords
I needed some patch cords to go between my recording equipment and Monoprice is well-known for their quality cables. I have several Monoprice cables and will always buy more. Great value and quality. Highly recommend to all musicians/engineers.

Awesome and inexpensive, when it works
Update 2022: these were unavailable for a long time and finally grabbed another one when they came back in stock. Unlike the first three, this one crackled like crazy and struggled to carry a clear signal on all channels. So, I guess the lesson is these can be inconsistent. My original three snakes still work great, but they haven’t moved either. Perhaps the QA went down during whatever caused the lapse in availability. Lowering by only a star because I have no proof of this, but my very small sample size suggests these have a 25% fail rate. So buy with some caution.Original review (2021):Great snake! I normally try to steer clear of molded cables when it counts, but I have three of these living in a rack where they don't move at all. No issues with shielding and way cheaper than individual cables, not to mention easier to tell things apart. Seeing as mine are the 3ft version, I can't speak to how the shielding and build quality holds up over longer distances, but for efficient rack cabling these are getting the job done nicely.

They work
After checking varied reviews I decided to give this a try and it's been really good. I got the short ones to use inside a rack, so I don't know much about greater lengths, but it's a balanced cable, so...They are really nice to the touch too.

Easy and economical way to cable inside a rack
Between preamps, audio interfaces, reverb units, compressors, I've got a bunch of things that have to be cabled together with TRS connections. I used to have a bunch of black cables running around the back of my box and if I ever needed to change anything it was a major pain. Now that I have a single "snake" type cable with colored ends, it is really easy to keep it organized. Also this is much cheaper than buying 8 individual TRS cables.I don't know if this would be useful outside of a rack system but for what I am using it for, works great.

Perfect for Back of the Rack
These were perfect for installing behind the patch-bay on my recording desk. They're definitely made well and cut out a lot of the cable clutter behind the desk. The color coding it easy to keep track of things.

Don't be afraid of short snakes!
I was originally looking for 3' Patch Cables Bundles and found the pickings to be slim in that area compared to ten years ago. The few bundles I DID find were fairly expensive for what you were getting. Then I found this 3', 8 cable Snake. While I only needed four cables I decided it was still cheaper to buy the snake rather than purchasing four, 3' patch cables. the snake is great quality and even though I only use half of it for now I have the option of using four more patches if/when I need them. I don't mind the extra plugs dangling from the rear of my rig at all. No one's ever going to see them any way other than Stage Crew and other Musicians. If you don't mind having extra patch cables if you only need a few and want them all to stay together then this is one Item I can highly recommend! Thanks Monoprice for a great product!
