Fun Fantasy about a moon Adventure
Good for 2 year olds. Fun adventure between two critters and imagining what it might be like to taste the moon. Not many facts about the moon, but a fun adventure just the same.

This book is adorable! I absolutely LOVE the Moonbear books
This book is adorable! I absolutely LOVE the Moonbear books, so when I stumbled upon this title, I ordered it right away. Moonbear and his friend want to visit the moon, so they build rocket ship, Moonbear gets in but falls asleep - wakes up in the middle of winter thinking he's on the moon! When he goes back into hibernation and wakes up in the spring, he gets to tell his friend his tale of visiting and tasting the moon. I'm a preschool teacher and can use this book as an any time read, when we talk about winter/hibernation, or when we talk about outer space! So many possibilities! LOVE this book!

Cute story, fun to share with young children
If you have a toddler or preschooler, check out Frank Asch books. They were a hit with our kids and now are also loved by our grandkids.

Childhood memory
A favorite from my own childhood (I was born in ‘80, three years before it was published.) I distinctly remember the magic of this book, while my kindergarten teacher read it to our class. I think we learned about hibernation and migration through the book. Now my own kids have this book. We have read it many times! I love Mooncake and can’t wait to read the other bear stories by Frank Asche.

Wonderful story
Frank Asch's stories are wonderful. I picked this up for my almost-reader (Pre-K), and she was captivated...as was my older reader, who's in the 3rd grade! Excellent word choices, simple but meaningful story lines, and bright illustrations - the hallmark of a Frank Asch book.

Adorable!
Moonbear is hungry and decides he wants to taste the moon. So he makes a cardboard rocketship, goes inside and falls asleep (hibernates). One day he wakes up, sees snow and thinks he's landed on the moon. He makes a mooncake and eats it, goes back into his cardboard rocketship, falls asleep again, and wakes up in the spring. Adorable!
