Awesome product for grandkids
Quite simple to assemble with the grandkids and looks fantastic when done. Suggestion is to augment assembly with plastic modelers glue so it holds up during missions flown by a 5 year old pilot.

Great kit! very easy to put together and play with- says my 10 year old
Fond memories as a kid myself over laboring over model kits, glue, paint, stickers etc. Now my son has lept into the model kit world and we have found these Airfix kits a great way to introduce him to modeling as a hobby. These kits are very well put together and the pieces fit perfectly and being that they assemble similar to Lego it was an easy fit for him. The stickers, however, are tiny and I had to jump in with a toothpick to help out. Overall though, these are fantastic and we have now purchased all available quickbuild kits that Airfix offers. My son is constantly asking if they have released any new ones yet. For the price the fun factor is off the charts good. Very recommended.

Fun replica that is surprisingly accurate.
My son and I like these and have gotten the BF-109E and the Spitfire MkII. They are good size and fun to put together and play with. These are early war variants of these Aircraft however the P-51 is the later war, D variant. The 109 is completely accurate and matches everything you see. If you are going to get the Spitfire make sure to look at all of the pictures. The Spitfire is not actually as dark in color as it is shown on the box and in the first completed image. As you can see in the other pics, all of the colors are in fact lighter then on the box image. The canopy and stand are much lighter then the ones that came with the 109. I prefer the darker ones on the 109 as you can see the lego like connectors in the Spitfire's canopy because it is so light. Also the stickers for the Spitfire are not good. The lettering for the side of fuselage is a light grey and not dark at all You can't even see the letters once you put it on. My son and I just pulled them back off and cut the roundels out and just put those on it and it looks much better. These are surprisingly accurate. I see many models of these aircraft and many of them take different parts from different variants and basically create and aircraft that never really existed. In fact these are accurate enough that I was able to tell you the variant even though it's not listed.

Great quality. Easy to assemble.
My 5 year old son is fascinated with WW2 planes, specifically P51-Ds. I had to help my son put this together, so the 5+ age rating was a stretch for us, but overall, I’m very happy with the quality of parts, decals and instructions. It’s solid enough for him to pretend fly around the house but it would probably shatter to pieces of dropped. He absolutely loves this plane though and we’ll probably buy a few more different planes from the company as gifts for him.

Nice model
I was looking for an intermediate scale between 1/32 and 1/48 to go with my 1/32 WW2 figures and 1/38 scale vehicles and this worked perfectly. The wingspan measures exactly 10 inches so this puts the scale right at 1/39.It was easy to assemble even for an old 66 year old like me, not having built a model in over 40 years. Took me maybe 30 minutes? I definitely needed the instructions though. I think this model could have been made with fewer pieces.Once together I noticed the wing assembly was not that solid so I glued the smaller pieces that make up the wings. I also glued the little red knob to the propeller to keep the propeller from popping off once assembled.Once I applied the decals I then sprayed a few coats of Krylon clear coat to permanently adhere the decals. Will definitely get the P51 and Spitfire models.

Great fun with the grandkida
I bought all 3 of these that I could find for my grandkids (ages 5 - 8). They love sitting up at the workbench in the garage while we work on these together. The snap together pieces mean they can handle construction on their own with an occasional assist. Best part is that unlike a regular model, they nowhave a toy that can be played with once completed, and if it "breaks" they can easily put it back together. I wish they had more versions.

cool model but a piece was missing (right top wingtip)
cool model but a piece was missing (right top wingtip). sometime the tolerance of connecting isn't quite good enough

Awesome!!
The idea that realistic models that are to scale and accurate being assembled in a Lego like fashion is totally whimsical! I've bought several of these for my 6 year old son who loves legos but I'm pretty sure I enjoy these more. Legos have always been super fun but this concept is revolutionary. Easy to assemble and very forgiving with almost instant gratification. Models requiring glue and paint are a bit more rewarding but are very easy to screw up. The pieces in these kits are compliant with actual legos but that doesn't necessarily mean much as most of the pieces are otherwise so proprietary that they can't be repurposed in any practical way (not that I'd want to). I sure hope Airfix introduces more of these because I'm hooked!
