Cool project for little kids.
The toy was awesome. The only reason I did not give a five star rating is because it was pretty hard to put together. I don’t mean complicated, but rather the pieces didi not easily fit together. There was no way my 5 year old could put this together by himself, which was ok because I bought it for us to build together.I also got the spitfire and that fit together rather nicely. So maybe it was just our model. For the money, For the cool factor, and to get the kids interested in models, this was a great purchase and worth the money.

Easy to build
Like most of the Airfix Quickbuild line of models, the Harrier was fairly easy to build. The instructions are actually easy to read, or at least to follow. Part color coding that matches the instructions really help. Be advised that some minor shaving of parts may be need to have everything fit.

Airfix's Quick Build range is a bit like a cross between a traditional Airfix model and a Lego kit. Actually, it's more Lego than Airfix and when Lego's patent ran out recently, Airfix clearly saw an opportunity for a construction kit for younger, budding model builders. So, this is something that falls somewhere between a real model and a toy. Whereas a "proper" Airfix kit will require glue, paint, a fair bit of time and no little skill, the "Quick Build" line is constructed very much along the line of Lego kit. You get about 30 parts, some stickers and a nicely visual instruction sheet and a stand and the whole thing simply clips together in a few minutes to produce something that looks rather like a Harrier jump-jet.This particular kit isn't quite as good as some of the other Quick Builds. The fit of the parts ain't great and some force was required to get some oif the bits to mate properly - also, the wings in particular were a little unsatisfactory. The instruction sheet was also a tad off and I'm pretty sure that the recommended order of construction for the fuselage parts was wrong - I would suggest using the instructions as a guide and following your instincts. On the other hand, once constructed, it looks pretty good and there is a surprising amount of surface detail. All in all, although it is let down a bit by the overall quality, this is a nice looking kit and good enough to serve as a toy, an introduction for the young up-and-coming modeller or a quirky desk ornament for a grown-up aircraft enthusiast.

FUN TO BUILD - AND TO PLAY WITH ONCE BUILT!
Airfix have done it again! The always popular Harrier is given the Quickbuild treatment by Airfix and it builds up into a surprisingly accurate model.it is fairly straightforward to build but I would advise that you follow the instructions because they have been careful to make it a little challenging for the builder. It is aimed at children from the ages of 5 years upwards but the plans are entirely pictorial and an adult may be needed to help at times with a young one.Like the other quick build kits this one can be taken apart and re-built any number of times. The size of the completed model is about eight inches long and so ideal for the youngsters to play with once built.Very sturdy model it is too!I would thoroughly recommend this kit to all children - and adults like me who want to have a bit of harmless fun!It is also very nice to see a new product that is both DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED IN THE U.K..GREAT FUN.No glue or waterslide decals needed;stickers provided for RAF Harrier.(Would have liked a choice of stickers here though).VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Great idea but could be better
These are a great introduction for kids to get into model building. They look fantastic and my boys love playing with them. My only gripe is that some parts dont click together very well.

A great looking Harrier.
Basically, its like shaped Lego that fits together to make a more accurate looking finished product than the blocky look of actual Lego. The parts do fit together well but on occasion one needs some extra pressure to mate all surfaces. Mine was a warehouse deal so the supplied stickers that would have been in the box were missing. the markings are provided in sticker form as mentioned. Its display in flight only so a nice chunky stand is supplied. The scale is probably around 1:72 which for this Harrier is a pretty good size without being cumbersome for a display shelf.

Missing decals
I bought this for my sons birthday after opening we found the decal for the plane was missing but as I had gone past the return date I couldn't make a complaint, I also bought 2 more planes 1 had a part missing and the other had no issues, not great as Airfix is supposed to be a well known name.
