Great DI and Overdrive stomp for the money!
Awesome DI/pedal! I have played through many amps, DI's including SansAmp, etc. in the last 20 plus years, and this product stands out among them all. I personally like it better than the SansAmp, simply because it sounds much better. The circuitry really does a good job bringing out that SVT sound, and using the Ultra Lo/Hi helps give me that edge to cut through the mix in live play. The overdrive "scrambler" is also very good and gives me the grit I need in certain songs. Overall, it is a great price for what it gives you back. Also, the construction is far superior to anything else I have used--very solid and all metal--even the bottom. Only con I could give it would be the lack of phantom power. However, I was able to just use a 12v adapter I had laying around instead of using a battery, and it works like a charm.

I love this thing
I love this thing. its totally worth the money, sounds great. I use it as my amp going into my subwoofer for the TV and dare I say it, it can actually get too bass'y or huge tonal range options. It had a strange loud zinging sound afternoise in the key of A but I figured out it was so bass'y that it was loudly vibrating the A string on my acoustic behind me. Cool:). Haven't tried a direct in recording yet but the sound of this is far superior to bass amps I've had. No mics needed and the various vibrating things earthquaking around the house won't make it onto the recordings. . Definitely a 5 star item in my opinion. I would at least check outside of Amazon for pricing though.

Big Warm Classic Ampeg Punch In A Small Box
I've been strictly an Ampeg user, for yrs. I like other brands too, but always come back to Ampeg. I actually own 2 Ampeg bass amps (1 head and one combo). I had been holding off on the SCR-DI for quite some time now, but finally bit the bullet. I mainly bought it so it could be my practice amp. I can't make noise in my apartment. So it comes in handy. And the "Aux In" is great for jamming along with your favorite tunes. But all in all it can come in handy for live/studio work, as well. It has the great classic "warm punch" Ampeg is known for. So I'm definitely a happy camper ☺ Btw...This thing is built like a tank. Feels and weighs like a brick...Literally!

So close but so so far away
Giving this unit any less than 4 stars would be dishonest. It's one of the nicest pedals I've ever purchased and used. It just has on major deal-breaker that probably only I care about or noticed, but just in case you care about the same thing, read on... This is a really really really nice pedal: * Fit and finish is second to none (srsly) * It won't break if you drop it (it'll break your foot instead) * Has an aux input for practicing along with recordings * Super clean sound (you can smell the detergent) * Really nice DI This pedal is so so so nice! And that's what makes it so disappointing to me. Lemme esplain. If you were me you'd think maybe with that classic scrambler circuit you'd be getting something more along the lines of that vintage SVT tone. Nope. The preamp/EQ is about as clean, slick, and scooped as you can get. Prepare to slap dat bass. (To my ear it sounds compressed but that's not a listed feature.) Hey, I'm not judging. I just wanna rock man. So big deal, right? Maybe you're into slap. Great. You'll love this thing but you won't love the overdrive. That's because these two sections run in parallel. "Parallel?!" you exclaim? Yes. Parallel. It's two distinct pedals in one case. Call me crazy but I generally like to put my overdrive *before* the preamp/EQ section; like before an amp. Not this lil guy. It puts them side by side. Here's the scenario. You get your tone sorted with the EQ section, maybe scoop out some mids to get it all polished and pretty. Then you click on the Scrambler. Scrambler don't care. Scrambler takes your *raw* bass tone, crunches it, then layers it *on top* of the preamp/EQ section. All that work you did dialing in your tone? Don't matter. You hear both the scooped tone *and* the raw overdriven tone. At the same time. Basically, I think this was designed by very talented engineers; engineers who don't play instruments. Or maybe design-by-committee was the problem. God knows I stay awake at night wondering who's responsible. So, for me I just considered it a $200 scrambler that came with a few extras. After owning it for a while, the scrambler tone isn't compelling enough to keep this beast on my pedal board. Will probably sell it. But shoot, man. It's a really really nice pedal.

If you love that Ampeg amp tone, get this!
This thing is amazing. I love it. You can get that awesome Ampeg amp tone not only for your own amp/pa system. but also straight to your headphones. This is ideal for practice where you can't make a lot of noise (apartments or people in your house are sleeping). Honestly, I hardly plug into my amp anymore to practice; I just hook an aux cord to my laptop and plug my bass in and I am playing along with music in my headphones. This makes traveling with a bass a lot easier because you do not need an amp anymore; just your bass, a cord, headphones and this and you are set to jam anywhere you want. I am also a fan of the scrambler overdrive and I think using the blend control knob you can really get an ideal bass overdrive tone. In all, if you are looking for a DI Preamp box get this!

Fais son boulot ,mais pour dire que j ai le son ou le grain Ampeg ? , Faut pas abuser . mais dans l ensemble c'est une bonne pédale. Le plus c'est un jack pour brancher un casque pour pouvoir bosser sans déranger .

This is a superb unit. I love Ampeg, and this gives me my Ampeg sound, even using other branded amps. Love it

The preamp and eq have completely transformed my tone! It has saved me from buying a complete new rig. Aux in and headphone out allows me to do a full practice with other people in the room without disrupting them. The scrambler (overdrive) is beautiful. Exactly the OD I have been looking for. This one stomp box has replaced 3 on my board plus the DI I was using. All in one device. Super impressed! I already run a DC power brick, so the lack of an adapter/power supply was not an issue. Want an all in one DI, practice amp, overdrive, Eq/preamp with great tone versatility? This is your pedal.

今まではSANSAMPを長く愛用してたけど、良くも悪くもSANSAMPの音で、安定って言えばその通りなんだけど、今回ベースを新調したのを期に導入しました。 個性に合ったお得作りが出来て気にいってます。

Great sounding DI/preamp. Small remark that despite the description this item does not come with a power supply. Otherwise 5 stars
