Cuts thru most cans like butter.-initially
My wrist was killing me. I had bought another opener and was struggling with every can. I was beginning to think I was going to have to get an electric one. I bit the bullet and ordered this one after reading dozens of reviews. It is substantial enough and the teeth cut into the can in one pinch. Only one can so far has given me any difficulty. It cuts through most of them like butter.UPDATE: I want to amend my review. The first three or four cans this opener performed as described. I can most of my own product so I might use it once or twice a week. The last three cans of vegetables I could barely pierce the cans and needed to open and pour out contents with a church key type opener. I am so disappointed. My wrists are killing me again. I'm afraid I may need to get an electric one.

If it can it will!
This product came as advertised. The grip is definitely more comfortable than the $3.99 grocery store openers I've purchased, and the cutting mechanism is equally as smooth and easy. In my opinion, only the longevity test will determine whether if it is worth the additional cost.Update: I got approximately 13 months of use before it stopped cutting. It was no longer grabbing the cans we were attempting to open and the crank would just spin. If we advanced it a bit it would start but would begin spinning again. Except for the comfortable handles, this product is no better than the cheaper grocery store models in my estimation.

Easy turning. Good design.
Well, I don't know why this can opener is different than any others...I mean, it looks like any other one. But for some reason it's so much better. There is no struggle at all turning the mechanism when opening a can. I've had others where you practically sprain your wrist trying to crank the thing. This is a very smooth operating can opener. This is the third one I've purchased recently and if this one didn't work, I was going to order an electric can opener which would look obtrusive in my kitchen. Great design.

Rotten garbage.
It's okay. I am not really impressed with any openers anymore. They are ALL knockoffs. This is identical to a GOODGRIPS with slightly different handles. It does what it is supposed to do but I could have bought an identical one locally.Update 12/17/15What a piece of junk. Finally threw it in the trash. If I could give it zero stars I would. Won't grip the can, blade is dull, flimsy metal handles that bend.

Excellent!
I never heard of this brand, but after 8 years I finally needed a new one. I have arthritis in my hands so it was important to me that I found a can opener that not only worked But worked well. I did the research, read all the reviews and choose this one. I can truly say this is an excellent product,I am very happy to say this works very well, is very smooth, and is very easy on my hands. (yes... I could get an electric can opener, but I have a small kitchen and I don't use a lot of canned goods)

NOT easy to turn. Gave up and bought an electric.
Bought this because many people said it was easy on their arthritic hands, and I have arthritis and overuse issues with my right index finger. After a month of light use (5-6 cans) it was as hard to turn as my old can opener. And no, it wasn't gummed up with anything--just so hard to turn. I should have returned this, but had lost box, return info. So a very expensive experiment. I'm happy now with an electric that doesn't hurt me to use.

Not for me!
I don't know whether I got a defective can opener or what, but this is the worst can opener I've ever had. There is no "effortless" to it. It's difficult to grip a can and difficult to turn and the cut is, as a result, very irregular and causes me to have to twist several times to get it off.

Relieved
Can't tell you how many can openers I have bought. They would all strip out and stop working after about 2 months. We open lots of canneddog food at my house. We have 3 dogs. This can opener is great! It consistently opens the can with very little effort. I'm so relieved that I don't have to buy another opener. Also, delivery was very prompt. I will certainly do business with these people again if needed.
