Malibu 8308-9103-01 10 Watt Pro Style Light, Aged Brass

The fixture itself is ok for the price BUT the connector Malibu put on it, is just asking for trouble. I bought quite a few these for front lawn project and at least half of the connectors cracked as I crimped them on my wire. (Please keep in mind I wasn't crimping hard, just keeping pressure to make sure it made a connection). If you decide to buy this fixture, do yourself a favor, cut off the connector that comes with it, and buy a better quality connector. Even if you are lucky and it does not crack, the plastic is so thin and cheap, it won't last long.

Works as expected

These fixtures shade the light bulb from shining into the sky. I bought them to light the driveway and path in my yard. They are ideal for that as they give a lit circle on the ground and does not shine in your eyes. I down-sized the lamp to a 5 watt bulb. The fixtures are well made with metal post and shade.

These lights look GREAT in the garden. The design of the light is GREAT! Replacing the bulb can be done at night. Simply unscrew the top cover to expose the bulb. Replace the bulb and screw the top back on. I have had these light 2.5 years and they are still beautiful. However... Malibu - please send you design engineers back to school and design a connector that will not fail. The small penetrating prongs corrode after a while; or the plastic connector will break... connection lost! As others have reported, when this happens (and it will happen) splice the wires to the underground cable with screw caps packed with vaseline to make them water tight.

These cast a nice, fairly wide and even circle of light. I have them around my yard and it's a nice ambience. Would be great as path lights, too. Have had them for a year in e AZ sun and they are holding up better than most things out there. One of five died within a month, and the price for a replacement here was better than at my local orange home goods store by about five bucks. I think the one was a bad unit; the rest have been great. Installing the new one into the main wire was no problem for me; maybe the other reviewer has an unusually thick low voltage wire.

I bought these lights to give an accent light around my plants and rocks surrounding my pool and that is exactly what they do. The lights are well made and put off a great glow. The color is amazing and seems to blend in muh better then te typical black Malibu light. Packing was great and light bulbs were included. I installed 6 of these with a 200 watt Malibu transformer and they work great together.The only Con would be installing the lightbulb without using your hands because of the oils that could damage the bulbs.

Great product for the money. The connectors are very short. Make sure to run your main line very closet behind these as the wire from the light is only about 6 inches in length. They put out fairly good light. I have very expensive lighting already out there at 115 per light. These were at my residence when I bought the place. These lights are different from those but look very similar and put out light just as good. I will buy these lights again to do another walk way.

I purchased an additional four lights after the initial purchase of a "kit" (pathway lights, floodlights, cable and transformer) at a big box store. They are very easy to install and a terrific enhancement to the pathway in our garden. The connectors, which allow you to tap into the main electrical line coming from the transformer, are a bit awkward but get easier as the installation progresses. The faux bronze finish seems very durable the level of illumination is enough to provide a pathway but does not look like a used car lot lit up. Theses lights ended up being about 20% cheaper than the big box individual lights. All in all, a great value.
