If you want a great battery extend your phone usage during the day without worrying battery life, this does the job great!There is one significant flaw with it though, and that is the connection that the Lightening cable plugs in. That connection has the wires in it wear out. When it starts happening, you can usually make it last by angling the connection into the case. It wears further and further though and it gets to a point where it will no longer accept a charge. I just purchased my 3rd one of these, and in both of the previous cases I had, they lasted roughly 6 months before the issue.The sad part is that the batteries still seemed fine when the connections went bad. I hate that the battery is wasted from that point forward. Since I am paying roughly $20 for each case though, I feel it is worth the battery life it adds in those 6 months. I have investigated other similar cases, and all seem to have the same or worse issues. If I could get these with a real good connection on them that was equivalent to the one that is on the phone itself, I would be willing to pay more than twice that price. Unfortunately, that is not the case. As far as the case protecting the phone, it does well there as long as you have a good screen protector on it as well (not included)It has very strong pros for it as well as very strong negatives against it, which is why I give it 3 stars.

This is my original post from when I first received this item and gave it 4 stars- - "Likes: charges battery well as advertised and very easy to install. Dislikes: Slippery especially considering the extra weight (weight one expects when adding a batter) and edges do not stick up higher than screen. Unknown: how well it will truly protect the phone and how long it will last."Here is an update on 01/10/2020: This is a true story. Well, I have answered the question about how it truly protects the phone. I foolishly placed my iPhone 7+ (with the battery case installed) on the roof of my car. Less than two minutes later, I forgot that and took off with the phone on the roof. I drove about 1.5 miles at 45 - 50 MPH and turned right onto a black top road, probably at 10-15 MPH. I then drove another 5 miles to a stop where I realized that I had lost my phone. I then drove back and retraced my route, and much to my amazement the extra battery weight of the phone had apparently kept it on my roof until I made the turn on the blacktop road, where I found it on the edge of the road where it had slid off the car's roof. That the phone was still there and not run over or picked up was amazing considering traffic, but not as amazing as the fact that the phone was UNDAMAGED!! The phone had obviously landed on the top right hand corner of the battery case where there is a scuff mark and small crack in the battery case. Phone and battery case are both working great! It was my lucky day, but without this case my phone would have been history. Lest I forget, the battery is terrific. I charge at night, and no longer have to worry about dead battery during the day. if the native battery goes down, I simply push the battery case button and it charges the phone's battery. I am so very grateful and glad that I made this purchase. What a bargain! 5 Stars for sure!!

This is a great purchase — just be aware that this thing isn’t perfect. I purchased this case in September 2019, and it just now became nearly unusable in April 2021. For just over a year, this thing worked beautifully and it saved me a lot of headaches about my phone’s battery.However, in the last 6 months or so, I could tell the case was losing its charging capacity. First, the charging port became loose, and I had to plug the cord in juuuust right for it to charge my phone and case. I would sometimes wake up and find that the charger fell out of the case’s charging port, and my phone didn’t charge at all. It became very, very finicky. Not only that, but in the last month, a “fully charged” case would only charge my phone about 20 percent. Time to get a new case.It’s great for about a year, but then it goes downhill fast. Plus, the finicky case charging port got annoying. It’s a good case for the price, but it’s not perfect at all.

I had debated on replacing my iphone 6s plus battery and thought if there is a better option I would try it. This was the best option in my opinion. Case arrived yesterday and today I tried it out. #1 I failed to read the included instructions regarding powering it up. So, after I accidentally powered it up the phone started charging. I was unhappy at first since my phone drained like before. Once I realized my stupid mistake I was humbled and came to realize I should read directions more carefully.The phone installed in the case easy enough though and instantly started charging when powered up.#2. It is now 4:26 pm. A full 12 hours after I put my phone to use. I am still at 89% in my phone and the case is still at 4 of 4 lights illuminated. I charged the case/phone last might for 7 hours.As needed I will power the case on and it starts charging. Before this case I would have been around 30% by noon.That said, I have told my wife to invest in one of these as well! Would I recommend this to anyone with a failing battery? Yes I would.If you take your phone to an Apple store they will tell you that there is a chance they will mess your phone up. This case works around that and is worth every cent they charge for it.
