IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad CMOS Coin Cell Battery - 02K6541 by IBM

Item was received within days of being ordered. This battery was slightly different from the original battery. The connector wires were a little longer than the original but the connector was identical. The YouTube video for my model T42 was NOT for a T42 as the video showed the cover surrounding the keyboard as 2-piece when mine was only a single piece. I wish it had been 2-piece as it was more difficult to remove to get to the CMOS battery but I was able to replace it. I had to tuck the wires in next to the battery so they didn't hang out.

The battery arrived a couple of days after I ordered it and is the correct replacement for the laptop I am using Lenovo Thinkpad T430s. The instructions on the Lenovo replacement manual were fine, but replacement was not simple, after removing the holding screws, it was difficult to remove the keypad and to place it back. The actual battery replacement is easy, what is difficult is the removal of the keyboard and reattachment of the keyboard. I would recommend the replacement be done by qualified service. The battery is fine, the replacement was difficult.

had the wrong connector on it, so I had to clip off the old connector and attach it to the new battery. laptop works again. hooray.

Works as expected, arrived stamped oem IBM part number, later model, works just fine.

Finally! My laptop stopped resetting the clock to the far future. I used a video for the install and it was very helpful. Search for "ThinkPad E450, E455, E450c Coin Cell Battery Replacement" to find the video as Amazon will no allow embedded URLs.

the plug was too large for the receptacle. worked okay after a little MacGyver-ing.

Look around for this battery with no avail until I looked here, Amazon. what the picture shows was exactly what I was looking for so ordered it right away. My old CMOS batter died so had to re-do the BIOS time and date every time I start up my computer. After replacing it with this new battery, which was easy to unplug and reinstall once you had access to it, I haven't had to re-do the date and time since the initial start up after changing it out. Exact replacement CMOS battery for my T-41 Thinkpad. If you know this is what you need look no further.

Laptop is toast, I guess. It has me locked out with a black padlock icon, it's looking for some password, but it must be buried deep & I didn't put it there.I can't figure out how to get it going again. Just installed a new hard drive, new xp pro os, new cmos battery & set bios to default, and I'm still locked out.If anyone reading this has a clue as to what to try next, I would be ever so grateful. It's my old beater IBM T21, but it has a new battery & and I love the old thing.
