Hot Wheels2008 New Models RocketFire 22 of 40

This is a great model if you are collecting or trying to obtain this vehicle for a child...or even the adult collector who collects this casting. This was a new casting in 2008, and this is by far the best paint scheme that Mattel has released this vehicle in. The orange wheels are great, and the vehicle itself looks very much like a NASA space shuttle inspired white/black/gold scheme with a flag loosely depicting the American flag. This casting was also released in 2015 as a Treasure Hunt! The item arrived with some slight damage to the card, but that's OK by me...as it was opened immediately after receiving it by a very happy boy who was happy to race this with the 2015 Treasure Hunt version. The car itself is a metal/plastic combination that races very well on the track. This particular car also has a wheel variation of white painted spokes on the wheel. The version we received had the normal silver painted spokes. While 5$ might seem a bit much for one car, if I add up the time and fuel costs to get to the local Hot Wheels dealers at the flea market it actually costs less to just buy from Amazon as we did. Again, if you are a parent or grandparent just looking for a casual gift for a child, you may want to spend your money elsewhere. However, if you are looking specifically for this model to add to a collection of RocketFire cars....you can not go wrong!
