Best Book
This is the perfect book for javascript. It covers many topics and is not for beginners. But I am very satisfied with the book . All the pages and the cover is also very good. It is worth it.

Great book (worthy to buy)
This is a great book and it helps me to solve my big problems in my code but it's best for someone who knows Java a little not completely for a beginner(according to me)

Good but not beginner friendly
This book is not a beginner friendly book. You can learn these concepts online easily too. The examples are kinda complex to explain some JS concepts. Buy only if u prefer reading book in “physical” form.

Mere ramblings and does not teach well.
Looks like the author woke up from sleep and wrote the book from whatever he could recall in his dream. The chapters are disconnected and all the content is touch-and-go. I am not sure who the audience is. Neither beginners to programming nor those who are already proficient in other languages will benefit from it. The most atrocious chapter is on aysync programming and Promises, the new exciting features of ES6, ES2017 and ES2018. The author tries to be funny with his description of crow technologies, but raises the blood pressure of those trying to get something out of that nonsense. The best book is the 7th edition of 'Javascript: The Definitive Guide'. It is as if the author read your mind and explains things in a very clear and comprehensive fashion. It is a fat book, and every minute spent is worth it.

Good book. I'm reading the softcopy (its free on the author's site). Check update
I mostly wrote this review to say that the other reviewers don't know what they are talking about. Its a great book. Just because you have the vocabulary of a 10 year old doesn't mean the book is bad. Just google some of the words if they are complicated. The author tries to teach multiple concepts in the same example. This might be off putting to some people who like to learn one thing at a time. Also the author says "bindings" as a way to refer to both variables and constants together? Why you have a problem with that lmao 😂Alright i have had some character development... this book is awful...dude is just rambling on about concepts he hasn't yet gone over to explain the current concept. This one "JavaScript: The Definitive Guide: Master the World's Most-Used Programming Language" simply better

Good, but a bit overrated
Not a bad book by any means, but a bit too much fluff and sometimes the author tries to show off a bit too much how 'intelligent' he is by coming up with overcomplicated analogies like in the async chapters.

Not an intro book. But, definitely worth it.
I understand this book gets a lot of bad reviews for mis-labelling itself as an intro book. But, that doesn’t mean the content isn’t phenomenal.I had light experience programming and have an engineering background. The author will explain in great detail with accuracy and precision. He will dispel any misconceptions you might have about JavaScript as a language. However, that is, IF you’re able to successfully parse the information. The problem lies in that he doesn’t write as if you have 0 experience, there’s definitely a lot of instances where he assumes you have a certain ability to deduce and arrive at the conclusions without having it spelled out. This book is dense, concise and makes makes an excellent reference text. For those that are able to overcome the hurdle, you learn A LOT. That being said, it ISN’T a book for everyone. But, it IS an invaluable source of information.
