Worth a try if it saves the chair.
Colour - Leather. I purchased this after reading the varying reviews, some positive and others who were not so impressed. The colour is as expected a nice rich warm brown and a good match to the original colour before fading of my tan colour tub chair. It does appear to definitely be more of a paint rather than dye in as much as it doesn't sink in.I found it easy to use, no odour at all.I simply shook the bottle well, poured bit into paint roller and used a small roller to paint it on. Goes on smooth, to start with I though I wouldn't need a second coat colour wise but after leaving it 24 hours approx., I could see that a second coat was in order. The first coat did seem dry although felt a bit potentially 'tacky'Second coat applied in the same way and was all my chair needed.Unsure whether to apply sealer or not I left chair 3 days and still felt it could potentially tacky.I purchased a spray sealer, applied as instructed and it appears to have taken the tacky worry away.Pictures show the during and after of the seat cushion.

Exceeded expectations!
Literally love the new colour! My method was:1) Sand down the shiny coat of the leather and clean it with an alcohol based cleaner2) Apply 3 coats of the leather paint (that’s how many I did as I was going from dark to light) waiting a few hours in between.4) Apply watered down PVA glue 1:1 as a finishing coat (I didn’t want to fork out more money and this leaves a nice flexible finish)5) The PVA makes it dull so polish it with a non-silicone based furniture polish when it’s dryHighly recommend. It turned out so much better than expected.

Very Happy!
I used this product to try and match an old sofa I was ready to chuck out with an old leather footstool I'd acquired. I had decided to give it a go and if it didn't turn out right I'd revert to Plan A and get a new sofa.I have to say we are absolutely delighted with the results. The product goes on easily and the colour builds with each application. After allowing it to dry thoroughly over the weekend we applied a gloss finish and the sofa looks amazing. There has been no rubbing off of colour, perhaps those saying they have had dye rub off didn't apply a finish? We were so happy with end result we decided to buy some upholstery foam and restuffed the cushions and keep the sofa for another few years!I'd highly recommend this product.

Excellent Dye
This dye works very well on real leather and synthetic leather. It is very easy to apply and looks great once done. I have bought many colours and I am now happily changing the colour of pieces of furniture.

Good coverage
I had bought this as a last resort as I wanted a new mirror so figured I’d buy the navy, put approx 2 inches in a plastic cup and used a small paint brush to cover it, I did the first coat the night before as it was only on for 12 hours I put another coat on today and as you can see I’ve covered it from brown faux leather to navy. I’m amazed and delighted at the result, anyone wanting to give it a try, I’d highly recommend it.A little goes a long way and I have loads left to do my headboard for the spare room, even though the second coat went on today it was dry enough to lean up against the wall until it’s completely dry.Ok so this is now a few days since I coloured my mirror and the colour looks great as I had to give 2 coats but that’s fine, the only slight negative Is that after a few days I ran my hand over the frame that I stained and it comes off on my hands, not a lot but I was going to use it to cover the headboard on my spare room but I use white bedding So I wanted to show you with a tissue in the photo how much colour comes off.Personally I wouldn’t risk using it on a sofa for fear of ruining your clothes, maybe it will dry through with time but it has been about 4 days.

Excellent product which provides a good finish.
Suite looking faded where the sun had caught it over the years so decided to recolour and if satisfied will keep the suite a few more years. I was very surprised how well this project turned out and would recommend this product. Below I give the procedure I followed and products used to achieve this result and thanks to all reviewers info/methods that lead to my procedure.1) Clean suite with soap and water to remove any containments (sticky marks, ingrained dust over the years of use) I did this the day before starting to make sure everything was dry.2) Prepare surface for painting with colour (Kaps Preparer-Leather Dye Preparation/degreaser) this goes a long way so only one bottle required.3) Used small paint brush to do hidden areas under folds etc. placed heavy duty plastic between dry painted faces until fully dry or the painted/dried surfaces will stick together and spoil your finish. I applied paint/colour then dried with hair drier applied next coat etc. until I was happy with coverage then left with polythene/plastic between as shown in pics. Make sure you go well onto cushions/areas as you paint hidden/covered areas as this overpaint will just blend into further coats of paint when you do the cushions or larger areas. Also make sure you get colour/paint into joint stitching but do not flood/fill these areas.4) For painting larger areas cushions/base I used a small foam paint roller and then followed with a sponge in straight lines with opposite strokes/directions between coats. I used three coats on flat bottom areas and four coats on the cushions. Don't worry if it you have lines on the first coats as these will fade as you dry the paint and will disappear with further coats.5) Once an item is completely painted leave the polythene/plastic sheet between any folds and let it all dry/harden for two days before continuing on to the sealing coat .6) Seal with two coats of sealer (I used satin gloss (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JL68XW5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) again use hair dryer between coats. I used a sponge to apply in an opposite direction between coats. Again this can stick areas together until fully cured/dried so use the same polythene/plastic protection between these areas that are pressing together which can be removed the next day.I used one leather preparation, five (500ml) colour bottles and three bottles of sealer for a very large three seater suite, large two seater, one armchair, one foot stool and a leather toy box/seat. The suite was medium plum but very faded in some areas the chair and foot stool had a different shade of colour on every panel :-) but all covered very well with three coats but I put four coats on the seat cushions as they receive the most wear. The leather toy box/seat was black and my wife asked if it I would be able to colour it to match the suite and I must admit I was dubious if the paint/colour would cope with such a change of colour from black to red but as you can see it had no problem although it required four coats which is fairly quick using the hair dryer between coats. One recommendation is If you think it is dry using the hair drier give it another five minuets heat because it is easy to drag half dried previous coats when applying the next coat if not fully dried/cured.Think how long this is going to take you and double it, this is not a quick job you are painting a very large area a number of times if you are doing a suite :-) Start with the folds but (don't forget the separating polythene) and hidden areas first then move onto the larger areas is definitely the way to attempt the job and the end result will be far better than you expected. The biggest tip with this system is the use of the hair drier between paint/colour to speed up the job and I also cut the sponge at an angle to get close to cushion/seam edges. I also cut a new clean face on the sponge every day to stop the paint/filler clogging/drying in the sponge pores and put the roller and tray in a zip poly bag if I stopped for a cup of tea or a meal. All utensils were cleaned out at the end of any painting session and sometimes between sessions as the paint dries fairly quickly where thin films of paint are lying such as the roller tray and will leave bits of semi dried paint on your painted surfaces. If you find any pieces of paint on your cushions or arms of the chairs they can be taken off carefully with your fingernail between coats.
