These are great very loud id gotten my friend and I one he actually likes it I'm happy with the purchase thank you for a a great device invention. It may save his life one day.

LOUD enough!
I read all the negative reviews, about how this whistle wasn't loud enough, after I placed the order and before receiving them. I was saddened to hear this as they're intended to be used on my kayak, and the last thing I want, in case of emergency, out in the middle of a lake, is to have a whistle no one can hear. Upon receiving them, the first thing I did, obviously, was to blow on them expecting some soft tweet to come out. I was in my bedroom, and blew as hard as I could once. Literally, it was so loud my ears rang from the decibels. I thought, yup that's certainly loud enough, lol! Then I thought, well I'm indoors, let's try them outside. One blow, and again... they're definitely loud enough. They seem well made and look like they'll last for awhile. Solid whistle... I think I keep 'em.

Loud even when wet.
This whistle is loud and works even after it gets wet. Obviously it won't work under water but I bought them for use with my kayaks in the event of an emergency. Even after being water logged, in one blow the water was cleared and the whistle sounded off loudly.

Loud but require lots of force
They are loud, but make sure to take a deeper breath than you think you'll need when using the whistles. They require very forceful blows to reach a loud volume. Also, might be a good idea to cover your ears. I like that they're plastic; metal ones tend to stick to the lips in colder temperatures. Overall, we are pleased. We hope to never need them, but they're nice to have in case. An affordable piece of safety equipment.
