Great for Beginners
I enjoyed learning the violin with this and it was very comfortable to use. That is also the problem since I got so used to having it on there I found myself missing it when it wasn't. It is a great way to learn finger placement which seems to be my biggest problem. For me the biggest problem is sticking with technique like posture and finger placement so this is a big plus. The other problem I have is my long boney fingers so they are a little more bent than I think they should be. Other than my personal problems with it I highly recommend for beginners or people with problems with finger placement. The violin in my mind is complicated and needs to be practiced a lot and I am twenty six years old so time to practice is very hard to come by. It is nice to find help products whenever I can to make learning a little easier. The violin purist might be against this but for me a self teacher I am for it. So whatever your view buy it if you think it will help b/c it did for me.

Worked as Promised but a Little Too Bulky
It helped stabilize my fingers against the bow but didn't need to be so thick, in my opinion

Need to Really Change The Title!!! NOT A BOW!!
This is not a bow, let me say it again. This is NOT A BOW!! The title is very misleading. It is just a grip for a bow.

Astounding!
I’m an older, fairly discerning cello player. My bow is a $3000 Arcus. I am simply astounded at how much more comfortably my 72 year old fingers can play with my bow now that I have this grip. With no difference to my bow’s response.Strongly and unreservedly recommended.

For RIGHT HANDED violinists - LEFTIES BEWARE
I am a lefty and a complete beginner with the violin. I am self teaching and figured this product would help me learn proper bow hold. I had looked at the other objects on the market and they wouldn't work with the bow in the left hand. I looked closely at the photos of this one and it looked like it could be used for the left or right hand - so I ordered it.Today I received the Bowmaster. There is a few things that you don't see in the photos that makes this strictly for a bow held in the right hand. For starters, there is a slight angle on the bumps that your fingers sit between. In the right hand, this angle is comfortable, but in the left it is quite wonky. Next, the cutout for the frog (part of the bow ) is off center? It isn't directly centered below the pinky dip. Again, when held in the right hand, it is quite comfortable, but in the left it is super weird and uncomfortable.I thought about returning the Bowmaster, but it is fairly cheap and maybe I can modify it enough to work for me.I did just want to make sure fellow lefties are aware that sadly this pretty cool product isn't made for us as well.

I really like this. It has helped me move from the ...
I really like this. It has helped me move from the thumb under frog fiddle grip to the classical position, but the thumb is a little constrickted. I don't think the back bottom thumb brace is really necessary. It is the thickness that is the big help and is suggested by none other than the great Sevcik. I have to adm I have lost a lot of my wrist fluidity as the great Mark O'Conner demonstrates, but I feel that the classical grip gives a purer tone and connection to the note that the thumb under grip lacks, not to mention being able to use the entire bow.

Great for anyone needing extra comfort
I am a professional violinist and have been playing for almost 30 years. I purchased this after a hand injury and it provides the comfort I need for hours of practice each day. I also recommend this for students!

I like it
I may not know much about a violin but I can compare one-on-one and this one wins

so for some years I have been using the wonderful Incredibows, the lighter of which weighs just 35g
Oh Wow! These little additions to the bow are so simple but have made a difference to my being able to play with a traditional bow or not playing at all. Although described as an aid to those learning so that they become used to the correct method of holding a bow, they are, to me, a lifesaver. My hands, especially my thumbs, are very arthritic, so for some years I have been using the wonderful Incredibows, the lighter of which weighs just 35g. Now they both need rehairing, so I knew I would be without them for some time. I bought myself a lightweight carbon fibre bow (weighing 70g) which was impossible for me, as the extra weight meant that more pressure was put on my thumbs in order to hold a much thinner, heavier bow. The I saw these wonderful Super-Sensitive Bowmasters (large) and knew that this was the answer to my problem. They mean that the bow becomes as chunky to hold as an Incredibow. I won't say that I am pain free now when I play, but it is bearable because of the extra weight, but |I couldn't manage at all without my new aid. Thank you so much to the clever people who developed this.

Way too small for an adult
Even the largest size is too small for me, and I am a female with average hands. There should be two more sizes up XL and XXL, as the position of the pinky and the index finger is waaaay too close.

Bow master
This is a really good product for beginners or even if after a while your still having problems holding the bow, it corrects your hold very quickly & you soon won't need it, but I feel still worth getting as it helps you get over the awkwardness of holding the bow... Item arrived well package & quick

Fit for purpose
I use this in conjunction with a baroque style snake wood bow that has a narrow stick. It works well for my style of dance and old time Appalachian music where rhythm and drive are more important than long smooth bowing.
