So far it’s working for my application.
I did a mild, budget friendly upgrade to the system in my 04 Expedition Eddie Bauer. Rockville media player, four 6x8’s and reused my SS8P under seat sub. I got full range from the factory sub, amp and crossover in the back. I saw a few bad reviews on this and was skeptical, so I ordered this, a pair of $40 FMod 150hz low pass filters and a $20 Nippon HC-101 to try. I thought this would help with running the FMods as active, being how they are run through RCA female in to male out. I figured it might help with finding the lows and also turn my RCA connections back around again. The Nippon didn’t work as an active crossover. Possibly not enough from the preamps to power through, or it just wasn’t designed for that. Still waiting in the FMods. I thought I’d go ahead and connect this and I think this did the trick for $15. Back to nice deep bass. Gonna send the other two items back for a refund.

Great product, worth the buy! In and out was just mislabeled for the opposite sides.
Works as it should. I rather use this than the gain control that comes with the amplifier. Plus you can turn your frequency high on your amp and just use this. Only thing the in and out were mixed up. They must have printed it on the wrong side. Just make sure you check one side of the other if you don't have sound.

READ BEFORE YOU BUY.
Despite this product stating and appearing that it controls frequency; IT DOES NOT. So, for those looking to this for it’s claimed crossover capability as I did; BEWARE. I ran test tones and sweeps. (I did not go any higher than 250hz) It’s not even a 120hz simple filter... It let all frequency through. This box is simply volume control; so back to Amazon it goes.

Arrived broken.
Arrived smashed and not working, all electronics within are in pieces and unusable as I tried to open to see if I could make it work without the case. Shipping bag seems totally fine visibly but also provided 0 protection as every single bubble was flat. A replacement was sent promptly and I got it a few days later which works alright so I updated to 4 stars. they wanted me to return this tiny smash electronics board and our local ups is garbage so it wasn’t worth the cost of the unit and my time and energy to return garbage. Needless to say I basically bought the original and the replacement. Volume knob works great. Freq response isn’t exactly a filter but accomplished what I need.

Easy to install and works as advertised
After building my custom, pro PA sound system, I found a bit of mismatch between the several subwoofers. One pair of subs was clearly too loud and had an annoying frequency "bump" in the mid bass. This inexpensive, easy to install and easy to use device cured both problems. Just plug it in via the RCA connections (no electrical power is required) and adjust the volume trimmer and the frequency cut off knobs to your satisfaction. The audio geeks among us may want to use frequency test tones and a dB meter to get a perfect match. That's completely legit. I simply used my overly trained ear to get the sound I wanted (even though I have access to test tones and own a dB meter). Highly recommended!!

Uncalibrated cut off
Frequency cut off slope must be huge, my sub was picking up in KHz, didn't work for me. Gain was fine, it reduce the overall volume.

It actually works
I used an old subwoofer on my PC setup, and didn't feel like using the sub port on my sound card. So I just split the main L/R out and sent one channel to the sub. Works fine but the sub doesn't have its own crossover. This little box fixed it right up. No more mud. Nice tight bass and a remote volume control for the sub (gain). Works great. No distortion at all. I'm still shocked it's in a nice sturdy metal case. It's built well, and works perfectly. Almost like something out of the 70's.
