A Definite Must Have
I have read many reviews about different items and never once felt compelled to write a review, until now. My husband and I both have a Venue Pro. We also have Laptops so our Venue Pro barely was getting used. It was a pain in the neck to type on that on- screen keyboard. Every time I hit a letter it would print it twice...ARGH! Then the screen is so small, what the heck, I just would use the laptop. I even went so far as to get a blue tooth keyboard to use with the stupid Tablet. What a joke, It ,was more hassle every time, turning it on, waiting for it to connect... if it actually did. WORTHLESS.! Dell has a case and keyboard for the venue pro but its a small fortune. Then I found this. I ordered only one because I wasn't going to buy 2 just in case I didn't like it. I was impressed as soon as I got it. WOW, not only does it fit like a glove it actually holds it tight with no scratching.and no obstructions from buttons, microphone or mini usb port. Even the Camera isn't obstructed. Wait, even more impressive is the stand. I bought other cases trying to find something to fit the weird size of the venue 8 pro and the stand on them were these cheap pieces of cardboard that if you opened and closed it too much they would eventually not hold the tablet upright anymore. Not this case. This case actually has a support that keeps the stand open and also keeps it from opening too far. It can never just bend open and fall. Plus the bend where it opens and closes is STITCHED. Meaning it is not the cardboard bending. Great Design. Its even covered in leather and tucks so nice on the case it is not obtrusive.. Yes the case is leather. Even soft. It has a flap that closes the case. At first I struggled putting the flap into the strap that holds it but after a few uses it loosened up and works great . You close it up and it is NOT opening until you open it. OK, now you open up this case and TA DA...there's the Keyboard. My first impression a little small with the keys...my big fingers..? Nope. it is Perfect. The keys are small but only because there is space between them all so you do not accidentally ht the key next to it. An amazing design for small keyboards.. Connection was a snap, Took about 1 minute the first time to turn on the blue tooth on computer and link and now you just turn on the keyboard switch and ta da...keyboard is working. If I had to complain about something the on off switch for keyboard would be my only complaint. It is tiny. A small challenge for big fingers, but it is really fine. When you open it up with the stand you feel like you are on a miniature laptop. I bought the Star Tech Micro USB to USB adaptor and pop in a small mouse I always used on my laptop and virtually I feel like I am using my huge heavy laptop in pocket size. Its AWESOME, especially for on the go. Now here is the really Amazing part. I used this case for weeks and one day while we were traveling I saw my husband typing on his dell venue 8 pro with that on screen keyboard (he didn't want to spend money on another case) and I sarcastically said "you want to use my keyboard?" "it's easy....you really should get one....works great"....He barked I don't need it, its a waste of money. After the third frustrating sigh from him using the on-screen keyboard he mumbled will your keyboard work on my tablet?....Yup...Ok I'll try it, I have a huge document to write. I started to remove my Dell venue Pro from the case when I thought..hmmm..does this keyboard come out on its own? I tugged at it and POP it came right off. OMG it was held on by magnets. In the prior weeks I stuffed my case in luggage, dropped it in the airport, even dropped it off my lap while I was using it and the keyboard never came off. The magnets are so good and strong that it holds the keyboard through thick and thin. How awesome ! Weeks later I had another great thing about my case. I smugly popped the keyboard off, passed it to my hubby who in seconds was praising the keyboard. I then heard, "can I see your case?" Here ya go. Followed by and how much was it? That's it? With the keyboard? Lastly my frugal husband said, Hey sweaty Valentines day is coming up it would make a great present. Can I get a mouse like yours too and one of those connectors too? LMAO! So now I have another on order. The case comes with a Micro USB to USB connector so if you don't want to use the Dell charger to charge the keyboard, just buy a standard USB wall plug in, the case comes with the cable and then you can be charging your keyboard and tablet and using them both when the battery is depleted. Remember fellow Dell Venue Pro users, the Venue Pro only comes with one port. So either you are charging through the port or using a thumb drive or mouse all from same port. Don't plan on connecting your keyboard through the USB Port. Oh one last tip. I keep a dedicated extension chord with my tablet always. Usually the tablet and keyboard seem to die at same time and if i want to continue working I need to plug both in at the same time and that Dell chord is really short. Plug it into a 6 foot extension chord and even in the airport its on my lap keyboard and tablet charging as I am working on it.So from a high strung engineer such as myself who never EVER writes a review am I impressed. YUP. Big Time. My co-worker bought a 200 dollar case and other than the leather being a little better quality, my $34 IVSO case blew his away and convinced him to go purchase this one. Also, I read a few bad reviews on amazon about this case and took a chance anyway....the reviews that are bad do not apply to this case. One says there s a snap that scratches the case. No there is not. No snap. So ignore the 2 and 3 stars and definitely get this case, it will take the tablet to a whole new level. An amazing Deal for 34 dollars. Heck I spent 30 on that small stupid keyboard that didn't work and I had to return. Hoped this helped ..its probably the only review I will ever write. Enjoy..and don't forget to stop and smell the roses. Kath

Best you're going to find...
I recently got this case and I'm still adjusting to it. Yes, the keyboard is pretty small but then again so is the tablet. The material doesn't really feel cheap and overall feels very solid and protective around the tablet. the keyboard keys are spaced as best as they could be and after a few hours of typing you'll start to adapt to it. The bluetooth connection is simple as long as you pay attention to the code prompt during the initial setup. The magnets are incredibly convenient and keep the keyboard sturdy yet it easily pops off with minimal effort if I'm intentionally trying to remove it from the case. The main frame around the tablet itself is snug and keeps my DV8P secure and sturdy. I can also slip it out of the frame if I want to carry it without this keyboard case around it.There is a nice flap under the frame where the stylus can be placed, although i haven't made that purchase yet. It's good to know that when I do buy the new stylus (one of the stand-out features of the DV8P) I'll have a nice compact place to keep it with everything else. Overall I would rate this keyboard case 5 stars because the price is pretty decent, batter life of the keyboard is great, bluetooth is reliable, protection is great, and the case just keeps it all together perfectly. I do wish some of the keys were a bit better sized and placed (for example, the enter key is incredibly small and the key for that apostrophe ' requires you hold the function key and press the L key, But with an 8 inch tablet that has such great features, this case really executes it's purpose impressively. MUCH better (and cheaper) than the factory keyboard/stand that Dell makes themselves as well. I would recommend this as a crucial accessory for anyone using the Dell Venue 8 Pro for school, work, travel, social networking, & gaming.

The Case doesn't quite work well
Keeping in mind that the Dell Venue is made to be used for professional work, and not casual carrying around use... Windows 8.1 makes quick and easy almost impossible. Still, it doesn't have the pervasive privacy problems of Android...The keyboard works well. The case, almost. I was able to pair the bluetooth keyboard without any problems. The case is a little quirky. It holds the keyboard well, by light magnets, The keyboard is powered by an internal battery, using a mini usb power source. Once it is charged, the keyboard holds its charge nicely. The case, though... First of all, the case is closed by pushing a leather tongue in front of the keyboard through a leather buckle-like strip on the other side. The problem is that the buckle sits facing up from in front of the keyboard. It gets in the way of my typing. It doesn't look like it would do well if it were folded under, either... Also, the case keeps the rear camera from being used spontaneously. The case needs to be level, before a picture can be taken, and holding it open in your hands does not make for a quick or steady picture.

Great bit of kit for the Price
Got this for my Dell Vision Pro win8.1 for 19-20UKP. Its pleather as you'd expect for something so cheap. The Keyboard Sync's perfectly via blutooth and the device remembers it when you turn the keyboard on/offIts a Joy to be able to use a Physical Keyboard without having the virtual keboard take up so much screen space in landscape and non-metro desktop mode. By default in the virtual keyboard on the Dell Venue 8 is horrid and annoying in desktop mode. The Keyboard works perfectly and is very responsive. The Enter Key is a little too small and niggly while the forwardslash, backslash, function/alt ctl keys are bigger than the others. I'd of made these standard to leave room for a bigger enter key.The decal/Labels on the Keys are very clear not sure how long they will last. The Keyboard is surrounded by pleather and its stitched into it so the plastic so self contained (ie you cant open it without cutting the material off. The Keyboard module itself is magnetically held to the rest of the case and can be easily removed to allow you just to carry around the Tablet. The part of the case that holds the Table itself is a little flimsy/delicate and the tablet can move up and down a little. I can see this breaking easily over time. Behind the section that holds the table there's a stand like a picture frame stand that can be pulled out. Unfortunately its notgreat and does not appear to be adjustable which results in too much of a shallow angle when standing the case on a desk. Its about 40-45degrees from level which is fine for when your sitting down at a desk its just not quite enough if you for example are lying in bed and are watching netflix etc with it resting on the bedside locker. The Dell Venue 8 pro is a very very thin tablet, Putting it into this case makes it considerably thick and it looks like a chunky diary.Very good value for money in my opinion. If it had an active stylus as well as the keyboard it would be fantastic.

No escape key!
The most disappointing aspects of this product are that it does not have an escape key, the keyboard mapping is different from a normal US or UK layout, and the keyboard is warped with the edges more raised than the centre. The other negatives which I have noticed from about 1 hour's use are that when you first type often the first keystroke is missed, and the keys are quite cramped with what seems like a less than optimal use of space. There are good points too, the fitting is good, the general size is good. It's great to be able to easily remove the keyboard from the case to which it is magnetically attached, and the connection seems relatively good.

great case
Bought this for my Dell Venue pro 8. It fits really well and is great to be able to have keyboard functionality that doesn't move around de to being magnetic. The stand works fine and there is also a handy pen/stylus folder. This is a nice looking case and looks a bit like a Filofax. very happy with this purchase

Good but has 1 flaw
This is a cheap and great little keyboard, only gets 4 stars though as there is no @ sign on the keyboard or it would have been 5 for quality, cost and battery life

Dell Venue 8 Pro
Hi,I bought this for the Venue 8 Pro. My first order was lost in the post, however the vendor dispatched another case and it arrived within the week. For the price the quality is great and it fits the Venue 8 Pro really well. The Keyboard is held by magnets to the cover and can be easily removed and used separately. The keyboard when removed from the case is very slim.

Works great - A little too bulky - but for the price great
Works great - A little too bulky - but for the price great. If they doubled the priced and made is slimmer would be perfect

makes a thin tablet thick
the space to insert the USB cable is very narrow.keyboard is fine, nut a bit cheap.no windows key!!!!overall I feel it's nice, handy, but still too expensive for a not so good quality.bad that if you have the keyboard switched on and you move the keyboard section behind the tablet, the keyboard is still enabled.

Solid case, decent keyboard
Great little piece of kit, case makeup feels solid, keyboard feels great, only grip is that the keys seem to be stuck on the wrong locale, will do a bit more reading to try and figure out if I should just change the locale in Windows or try updating the keyboard.

Good keyboard for the device.
Good keyboard for the device. Case is quite bulky but does the job. Nice price compared to the Dell alternative and arrived quite swiftly.
