Havaianas Women's Top Sandals

I discovered Havaianas after following a friend's recommendation. I've worn another brand of flip-flops for many years but never liked how slippery their insoles are when my feet are wet. Recently that slipperiness resulted in my falling after exiting the pool, so my friend recommended these as a safer alternative. These flip-flops look and feel well constructed and durable. They are water resistant and have a textured insole and outer sole to keep wet feet from slipping. The rubber sole resists compression but is still comfortable to walk in. The Y-strap is set far enough forward that the post is comfortable for short-toed wearers, and it's tall enough to accommodate thicker feet. The standard width fits wide feet with no part of the foot hanging over the edges of the sandal. They have zero arch support, so be aware of that if this is an issue for you. The black version can be styled with literally anything. The pink gold version looks fantastic on tanned feet. Is this brand overhyped in certain circles? Perhaps a bit. Are there cheaper chanclas out there? Sure, but you really do get what you pay for. So far, I've found that Havaianas' legendary quality, fit, and functionality make these flip-flops worth paying a bit extra.

The rubber sole feels soft but durable, and they don’t hurt your feet even after wearing them for hours 👍. These are definitely my favorite flip flops. I got a pair in Navy Blue a few years ago and absolutely loved them. Somewhere along the way I lost track of them and I've missed them ever since. Living in the heat of the South, I've gone through several pairs of flip flops over the years but never quite fell in love with any as much as these. Or if I did love a pair I would wear them so much they would break down and fall apart... some even developed funky odors rendering them unwearable. Admittedly it may seem a bit odd to be professing love for a pair of flip flops. In particularl these as they are fairly standard looking as far as flip flops go. But there's just something about the shape of this particular brand and model (the Top, not the Slim) that seems to flatter my foot more than any other flip flop. I can't explain it. Is it because I have wider than average feet? Anywho, aside from vanity they're just super comfy and their weight is ideal - not too heavy and bulky, but still of substance. They're also very convenient - good at the beach/pool/shower and they also have enough cushioning (for me at least) to do plenty of walking if I need to. Of course, as with any flip flop, I would not go hiking or do any activities that would require actual traction. They aren't as sturdy as, say, Rainbows, but honestly I far prefer the feel of rubber under my feet. I tend to find leather very drying. Still, though, they are sturdy enough and they seem to hold up to wear and tear with ease so I trust they will last quite a while, assuming one doesn't lose them. Thus, for the aforementioned reasons, I finally got myself another pair, again in Navy Blue a few months ago when they were on sale and I have not been disappointed. A note on sizing - I generally wear a women's size 8, on the nose. Apparently, after looking through my order history, when I ordered these the first time I got a size 39/40 (US 8/9). This time, for some unknown reason I ended up ordering a size 37/38 (US 7/8) and the fit feels perfectly fine to me. Maybe my feet have shrunk? Honestly I don't remember ever being dissatisfied with larger size, so my thinking is that the sizing might be rather flexible. If you prefer tighter fitting flops order down, if you prefer having plenty of flop behind your heel order up. But who knows, maybe I have weird feet. Oh, and for reference - in the picture of the flip flops next to a black slide on - the black slide on is size 8 & 1/2. I threw in the blue notebook for color reference. I suppose size 37/38 does just barely fit my foot, but that's the way I prefer it as I usually end up tripping over flip flops that are much longer. As long as my foot's not falling off the edge of the shoe I'm happy. EDIT August 2018: Still my favorite pair of flip flops and still going strong! These even went with me when I moved to Bangkok, Thailand and back. Must haves. EDIT December 30 2020: Still my favs. Have gone with me on a move from the (U.S.) South to the Pacific North West, and on trips between the two.

Since these are rubber always a little stiff but still comfortable. I really like these because they’re easy to clean and last forever. My last pair i had for a decade and the the thing portion finally snapped. True to size.

I’ve owned several pairs of Havaianas over the years, and this pair is just as comfortable and well made as I expected. The only reason I’m giving it four stars is the overall design. Compared to some of the slimmer Havaianas styles, this one has noticeably wider straps and a broader shape between the toes. To me, it gives the sandal a more sporty, unisex look rather than the slimmer, more feminine style that I usually prefer. That said, this is completely a matter of personal taste. The comfort, quality, and durability are exactly what I expect from Havaianas. If you like a slightly bolder, more casual look, you’ll probably enjoy this style. I personally still prefer the slimmer models, but this is a solid everyday flip-flop.

The only sandals (they're flip flops really) that I buy. Excellent fit and comfortable. I have many pairs and colors. They last more than one season. Highly recommend

great quality and comfortable

If I could rate 0 I would. I have been wearing Havianas for 25+ yrs and never had a bad pair. This order looked fine on the front of the shoe, but felt strange on my feet. I turned them over and what a mess. Every hole for the straps except one was defective. The straps were put on so tightly they were partially down in the hole shaft instead of the end of the strap being level with sole. Two were sideways into the hole. This caused all the holes to be frayed around the edges. With two weeks of wear the straps would have been pulled out completely. I have a pair I wear almost every day and in the winter I wear them inside the house instead of slippers. There is a small identical chunk of sole missing on each heel. They are 2 yrs old and look 200 times better than the new ones. The description says The Havianna Store is the seller. Not sure if this is what they are producing now or if they came from an outlet where defective pairs are sold. I paid regular retail price for them. Heartbroken to now have to search for a new favorite comfy flip flop.
