Gardein Plant-Based Stea'k & E'ggs Breakfast Bowl, Vegan, Frozen, 8.5 oz.

I’m not normally a huge fan of frozen meals liked this. I like the convenience a lot, but I just rarely think the bland, weird, frozen-and-reheated taste is worth the slightly less effort/time it would take to, in this case, make a quick tofu scramble and toss in some potatoes, veggies, and salsa. (Let alone a price that half the time is enough for me to make the fresh version for several days rather than buy one, single, frozen meal.) Vegan faux meats are hit or miss with me so I’d normally skip them if I was cooking the individual parts of this, unless I was feeling some hard-core nostalgia for my pre-vegan days. All that said, I grabbed this on sale because I’m always looking for something like this to keep on hand for those nights I’m just not interested in cooking/cleaning a pan and it was surprisingly good! I bought two, this “steak” breakfast bowl and a southwestern breakfast bowl and I ended up liking this one better, but I genuinely enjoyed them both and would definitely buy them again if I come across them again on a reasonable sale price.(Caveat though: I’m not saying this tasted like a non-vegan version would. I genuinely dislike steak—yeah, going vegan was not a sacrifice for me—and the fact that I enjoyed the “steak” bits makes it seem pretty likely they’re not very steak-y. I’ve had vegan chicken that had the taste and texture of real chicken to a are-you-sure-this-is-fake?! degree; I’ve had beyond meat hamburgers that I don’t enjoy because again, I was never crazy about real beef. This wasn’t that. I liked the flavors and textures of this bowl but if you’re looking for a non-vegan, fresh bowl of real steak and eggs experience, adjust your expectations. Or go to a diner or something.)

Yes, yes and yes! Extremely satisfying and tasty and I eat it for lunch too! A bit too heavy for me for breakfast but its perfect for lunch time. Of course if you like eating heartier meals in the morning this is perfect too!I was suprised also at how good the "eggs" taste. The texture is definitely there although like most vegan eggs you can't fully expect them to taste like the real thing (not that I care for that) but the addition really perfects this combination.

I like the Southwest saus'age & veggie Breakfast bowl from Gardein, so I thought I'd give this one a try.I wasn't into it. I didn't like the "steak", it was rubbery and tasted weird, I took it out and overall the bowl was ok, I had to add hot sauce and ketchup to try to make it better.Not buying this again.

Have been pleasantly surprised with the Gardein products, so I was excited to try this. It fell short, the “steak” was disgusting. Texture was off and no flavor. The potatoes and peppers were fine, like any ordinary microwave meal. Added hot sauce. Won’t buy again.

It's been awhile since I've eaten a breakfast that rested in a pool of grease. After eating, Gardein's Stea'k & E'ggs Breakfast Bowl, I will happily admit that I haven't missed that experience at all. While I usually love Gardein's products, this one was a total miss.

I wouldn't consider myself to be terribly picky when it comes to frozen meals but this was just bad. Not to mention that it has half of the recommended daily sodium allowance. Will not purchase again.

So good!! I split the bowl in half, for my son and I, and it is a perfect breakfast portion. One of my favorite Gardein meals!
