Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry Audio CD – Audiobook, March 1, 2012

I’m intuitively and rationally aware that I am far outside the target audience for this touching/moving kindlebook that is Akiane; Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry by Akiane Kramarik. However, the open-minded and spiritual side of me came upon this kindlebook title by both unexpected and spiritually mystical means to where it was too tempting to pass up such a story. I prefer to keep some of the reasons secret on what brought me to looking into her story yet one reason I feel comfortable publicly admitting is that I was drawn to this touching story of a young girl who has been aware since a young age part of what her spiritual purpose is through her art talents and even with my spiritual beliefs I felt moved by the love that her mother showed for her through the way she writes about her daughter in the section before her daughter’s art section. An open mind is necessary even when it comes to looking at different belief systems because Akiane Kramarik’s writings/thoughts are included with the art. However I feel from the heart that Kramarik’s writings on how the art came to be adds a positive effect to understanding and looking at the life behind her various forms of artwork included in this kindlebook.

I had heard about this girl and her artistic talents. It's interesting to follow her progress from three yrs' old, into her pre-teens. Her paintings of Christ were remarkable. She claimed divine inspiration, and that provided her with views and symbolic images of Heaven. Much later, I read the book, "Heaven Is For Real",by Todd Burpo. its premise is that a three year old boy, son of a minister, nearly died on the operating table, and was taken up to Heaven. Among other things, his dad, several years later, was pushing him (gently) for an accurate picture of Jesus. No photo or image made the grade for the boy, until he was shown one of the paintings done by Akiane. According to the boy (as noted in the book) THAT was the only truly accurate picture of Jesus. I'm not an art critic, but I had to have a look at what was claimed to be the true face of Jesus. That's why I purchased Akiane's book. Two children, unknown to each other, both claiming to have visited Jesus in Heaven. Who could resist?

Before one ever opens a page on this book ,if you have ever heard of this girl then you also realize that she is truly a modern day apostle of God.Anyone who has ever gazed at her art or read her poetry does not walk away untouched.I will be rereading and referencing this book for years to come.

Akiane's story is like reading a biography of a young Einstein. It is quite interesting to hear about her family and upbringing that led her to where she is today. Her experience of Jesus at a young age is an awesome testament to the God who sees—he saw what her family was going through and planned a pathway through which his grace and presence would enter their family. Her mother also peppers the tale with humor, which I enjoyed.Her spiritual visions are probably best told through her paintings, and I am glad that the book didn't give undue focus to the experiences.It was a quick read. Could not sleep with jet lag and I read almost the whole thing in a few hours overnight.The poetry is dense however so I am still going through it and re-reading the parts that resonate.

This is a beautiful book - and large! I actually have it electronically, but the physical book is so beautiful too and often I just go through it and gaze and the paintings and drawings. This isn't expensive either to tell the truth. I may get more as gifts. This is a beautiful book - just lovely!

Loved this book! What an awsome, incredible story...I was blown away by this girl and her abilities. First, her mom writes about her daughter and the rest of the book are some of the most beautiful works of art I've ever seen. The photos are absolutely stunning!

Beautiful art that is all a gift from God. Akiane is a special young lady who was chosen by God to spread his message. So wonderful to have her share what Jesus truly looks like! Her paintings are so lifelike! I've been sharing this book with my grandchildren (all 8 teenagers)!

I love this book! I got this after reading about Akiane in the "Heaven is for real" book. To hear the full story is amazing... you can't help but feel a connection with God. Highly recommended for anyone, even a non-believer. Warning though, it may change you to a believer ;) Oh, and this young girls art is absolutely remarkable

Beautiful illustrated book of Akianes' life story so far, (to age 10) a child with amazing talents in art and poetry. It gives a real insight to this very special child and her family. I couldn't put this book down

Akiane is quite simply a child who is inspired by God. From the earliest age she was intuitive and thoughtful; by the age of 4 she was having regular 'visions' directly from God which inspired her to draw and then paint the most incredible pictures and poetry. These artworks were as if the hand of God was painting and writing through her - like the prophets in the Bible, she painted what she saw and received from God.I found this book after buying 'Heaven is for Real' by Todd and Colton Burpo, in which a 4 year old boy visits heaven and meets Jesus in an authentic Near-Death experience. After his return, he was asked what Jesus looked like and shown many paintings of artists' impressions of Jesus. None were quite right - until he saw the painting of Jesus done by the 8 year old Akiane. "That's him!" - apparently it was an authentic likeness. Colton's book illustrations were painted from the child's descriptions, and the pictures of Jesus do look like Akiane's Jesus.I was intrigued, and searched out Akiane's website and this book, which has a copy of this and all her pictures. It is a haunting, riveting portrait with piercing eyes.I shared the two books and their amazing pictures with my 3 children. The 5 and 6 year olds were completely fascinated by all this, and wanted to look through both books over and over. They loved the idea that God could work with a child in this way 'as a team'. They also loved the stories behind the making of some of the paintings. It has several Jesus paintings in it, including 2 of him as a teenager consulting with God about the creation of the world (a must-see.) Akiane's book is not a children's book, it is for everybody, young and old alike. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking the truth about a personal relationship with Jesus/God, wanting to strengthen their faith, or anyone curious about how Jesus looks and thinks!

Everyone who buys this book keeps it as a permanent keepsake to show all their friends.Normally little American girls aged 8 usually dress up in their mummy's clothes etc or play with Barbie/Cindy dolls until they completely destroy them or lose interest or throw them in the trash can ...or beating up their younger siblings until bed time (with tears) or..... but this clever little Angellic girlie has painted something quiet remarkable on page 58 and page 59. Guess which ultra famous man from a famous book she painted in oils just a few years ago.? Truly outstanding talent after a miracle fall as a baby. This book is a treasurable account of the accomplishments of an ‘ordinary’ girl who, from a very young age, is divinely inspired to paint and to write poetry. Her supreme achievement is, in my view, her painting of the face of Jesus Christ, which she titles ‘Prince of Peace.’ The book contains numerous prints of her pictures and her writings.
