It's a GREAT lil' Computer!
This is a revision. I gave this 3 stars a while back, and I have to up that review.I am now on my 2nd MK802IIS unit -- I bought an extra for a different TV, and I can't say enough good about it. Both work great. I hear the MkIV is faster, but I have also heard, I don't know this for certain, that there are some overheating issues with that model. I have had no problems of that sort with this unit and I rarely shut it off -- it runs continually. It is possible that you may have to download and flash its software and that is precisely where my former issues lay with it-- it needed updating and after contacting Customer Service, I flashed this stick and found it does everything I could hope for. Customer service is a little slow to respond , ( they are in China), but they get the job done.I recommend a logitech k700 keyboard with a unifying usb receiver to control it. Be sure to buy a 2A USB power adapter of some kind for it. You NEED steady power and my TV usb port was insufficient. Too little power and you'll think it does not work. I also had to download a free app sound booster, but once I did that, picture and sound were great. It will actually access most video services along with pretty much any fully functional internet browser you wish. It is rooted and I have had almost no probs. I had to reset to factory once when it forgot it's keyboard functions, but I might not have had to do that if I had had more time to fiddle with it.

Innovative idea, works well, just expect what you will get with this isn't Windows
For what this product is, a high-end tablet without a video screen, it works very well. When i received this small box with the computer inside, i was a bit dubious, i admit. But getting it going was pretty much a snap. I plugged it into my HDTV directly and at first tried plugging the power (DC) connection into the HDTV USB port for power. That proved to be a slightly underpowered connection, so i switched to a wall plug connection, which made everything happy. Just to try it out, i plugged in my Logitech wireless mouse that was on my laptop originally, plugging the mini USB adapter into the regular full size USB port on this device. It immediately recognized and utilized the mouse, and in no time i was setting up the computer on HDMI 2 on my TV. The most difficult part of the process for me is breaking myself of the Windows mentality by double clicking everything. You only need to click on stuff once. Using my current gmail address, i downloaded and set up most of the apps that are already on my phone through the Play Store. I recommend KingSoft office, it seems to run the best for "Office" type of functions. Music played perfectly through my HDTV, and when I connected a 64Gb thumb drive with a bunch of .avi's on it, they all played in perfect quality using the standard Jelly Bean video player. Surfing the web using the Chrome browser was fast, and because i had synced it with my existing gmail account, all my bookmarks were right there. I connected a 2.4Ghz logitech keyboard/mouse combo with no problems. I then tried a Bluetooth combo, and this is where i had some issues. To get the Bluetooth keyboard paired, you need to use some other device like the 2.4 Ghz mouse, because you have to enter the 4 digit "passkey" often required by bluetooth devices. Also, if you are having problems with bluetooth, try going into the settings, turn it off, then turn it on again. I found that did the trick. My wife was impressed enough with this setup that she just ordered one for her Counseling office, so that she can play youtube videos on the HDTV they have there for her group sessions.

It works fine, and the vendor met expectations, but...
It shipped fast. It arrived unopened in original undamaged packaging, and it works as described. I got what I ordered, but it turns out it's not exactly what I wanted. I'll still end up using it, because there is nothing wrong with the item, but I needed to get another model for the intended purpose.Drawbacks to this model:Performance is a bit lower than expected. It's good, but only about 7000 Antutu score. The built in wifi/bluetooth are not supported in picuntu linux at this time (no linux drivers and no news saying that's going to change.) Note: Wifi and Bluetooth both work fine in Android.Mali graphics are not supported yet in picuntu, but this will probably change soon, and there is a work around, just not in the official picuntu release. To connect this to a lapdock, at some point, you need a femaie micro hdmi to female hdmi adapter or cable. These are hard to find. The only ones I've found you have to get shipped from China, so it takes a month to get. Still haven't received it yet.Amazon Instant Video is not supported. It doesn't even work in a browser. I tried a little, and it may be possible, but I couldn't just change the user agent to desktop. it's not simple. It had problems with Flash.

wifi issue out of the box.
i plugged this guy in my pc but could never ever get the wifi antenna to pick up my router. There are forums for this exact issue telling you what to do. It did me no good.I was about to send this back when I just decided to do it one more time. I took off the case one more time, made sure the plastic did not crimp the frail wire for the antenna and still no good.so I just took it completley out of the case and let it hang on my hdmi port. GUess what. It worked. So with it powerd on and connected i put the case back on very carefully and have had zero issues ever since. plugging it in and out repeated times I still get good wifi access.it now just stays powerd on all the time so i'm fine.and I did use a strong usb charger. the one i use for my tablet's. so that was not the issue if thats what some of you thought.otherwise, its a great product.
