Q: Does this kit measure acidity or PH?

It measures specific gravity for home brewing. The object is to know the fermentable content before and after fermentation. Since there is no chemicals involved, I see no way you could get the ph or acidity using the weight method used here. Works fine for beer, and that is all I know for sure.

Q: Is it normal to have a small line between narrow and wide part of the glass? Looks almost like a crack.

Yes it can appear that way due to the joint there. If it has moisture on the inside is when I would say that its defective. Remember that the calibration temp is 60 degrees F.

Q: Is this hydrometer glass?

yes it is glass. Packed very well in holder and box

Q: How much alcohol content its it measure?

This type of hydrometer measures potential alcohol by volume. Using a math equation you can figure on the low side of a beer, wine, or mead. Any higher than those you will need a proof and trail hydrometer used for measuring a spirit.
