Love it still after 2 years, with some maintenance
I used to have a conventional knife block, but found I only used a few of the 12 knives it held, which was a waste. I bought more of my favorite types of knives instead, and this block was perfect for storing them. 2 years later I started to find that my knives weren’t sliding in all the way and were actually posing a danger as they got all top-heavy and could fall out. Over time the rods got bent and contorted from my knives pushing them in which caused the space to be much tighter. I was able to remove the rod insert and clip down a bunch of the bent rods. Some came out easily on their own as well. Once these were removed and the insert was put back, my knives slid in just as easily as when the block was new.

Nice upgrade for my knives!
This replaces the knife block I have had for 20 years. It works well with the good quality knives that I have invested in and used for all the years. (In truth, I had replaced many of the knives in the original block.) Very pleased with form and function of this knife block. Recommend for others. A bit tall but that is the only draw back I have found. That impacts fit under cabinet on the counter. Overall pleased.

WORKS FOR ME
I love this knife block. I keep my ceramic knives at the top and pens it the small lower part.

Holds a lot of knives
The media could not be loaded. Holds the same number of knives as my 2 former knife blocks held. Don’t need to find the right sized slot to fit each knife as the knives slide in anywhere in the block. Fits fat scissors as well as knives with thin blades. Wood is a nice neutral color

It is a great way to store all your favorite knives or a single gift knife, or set!
To make a long story short, I had purchased two knife sets, with out a blocks as gifs one for Xmas, one for birthday, near Xmas. (Was gonna give the block for Xmas present for the Bday boy.) So I had purchased two “universal knife blocks”. My mom loved the knife block that I had purchased the knives, she received new knives and a new block to put them in. The Bday boy, his wife bought him a knife block for the set of knives I had gave to as Bday present, which left me with an “extra” gift, with no one in mind to give it to. So I gave it to a friend of mine, that had been a short order cook, sous-chef, fisherman, hunter, which each I had no idea if he would want or not. Turns out, he was VERY impressed! It truly is universal, for all needs, for all your favorite blades. He was proud enough to send me a picture because, in his fields of endeavor, each blade serves a purpose, and are located in the same place, not to mention, made more room in the kitchen drawers. As far as easy to clean, remove the knives, (carefully of course), turn it upside down, two brushes fall out, wash and let dry, slide them back in. Simple. Since they were given as gifts, this very last Xmas, I really cannot comment on the knife sharpeners, or durability. Putting a razor shave hair type edge on a blade is an exact science. You have to have the right angle range +/- a couple degrees for which the blade is to be used for, (utility, hunting, fine blades). So I would not recommend running any blade trough the sharpeners. Since its a kitchen block, I would use it for fine blades, as a guess. Hunting or utility blades will lose durability if cut at a wrong angle. But overall, if your looking for a great gift, for basically ANYONE, I would recommend this to EVERYONE. Everyone has a favorite, grandpas, or grandmas, knife, but is always stuck in a drawer and difficult to find. Give it a place to be, if it ain’t there check the dishwasher.

Worked great until the bristles start to break
Holds knives securely, but after a few months the knife blades started breaking the bristles, causing them to collapse inward making it hard to stick in the knives.

Works great
Knives look a little disorganized, but it works well.

A pleasant surprise
I didn’t realize how this was built at ordering; we had just received a set of steak knives and needed something to hold them and a few of our paring knives. It works great and has room to spare.

Wonderful clever design
Excellent design. It fits all our knives even long bread knives and we manage to fit at least 12 in it. So much easier to just push them in a space rather than fit in different slots. Though I haven't tried this yet the inserts are removable to wash them which is a feature that I couldn't find on other similar but cheaper knife holders. The angled block makes it very easy and safe to choose a knife. The outer bamboo material is very attractive and well finished

awfully handy to have
Although I found it pretty expensive at first, I like it a lot.I used to have an assortment of very sharp Swiss knifes in a kitchen drawer and - since they were different lengths - i cut myself frequently when fishing for a certain one, that had got to the lowest part of the drawer (don't they always do that?)And now all my knifes are in front of me, easy and safe.In another home I have one of these made of full wood but, that you cannot clean inside. I am not a fan of too much plastic in the house but we're it is sensible to use I do.

Looks good- does the job
Having bought some very sharp knives we realised that chucking them in the drawer wasn't the safe or sensible option. This wasnt the cheapest option but so far so good. The rods inside are easy to get out to clean (unlike previous knife blocks) and we can fit all the random sized knives in it, including the bread knife and a big chefs knife. The smaller utility/paring knives are good in the smaller compartment.I like that it is angled, so easier to grab the right knife.Looks good on the worktop - very happy so far.

Completely useless after just three months
As the title says, this block is basically unusable after just three months. Complete and utter waste of money. The main section where the bigger knives go, and are used every day, has become solid as if the reeds are all tangled up making it just about impossible to put the knifes down.Have had to now go out and busy something totally different to replace this unit. Complete and utter waste of money.

Does what it says on the tin.
Inside plastic rods are difficult to clean and a few have come out. The inserts slip out if moved about but now that I have a knife holder it's a lot easier to use the knives. Easily holds knives of different shapes and sizes
