Blessed by This Book
I have been absolutely blessed by this book. What started as just mere interest for an easy read turned into a life experience. There was no corner left untouched by Jess' words. While other authors have left me wanting more, Jess provided thorough insights for every chapter. As I read, whatever questions/doubts/concerns that started brewing, just a few sentences later she tackled them. Always 10 steps ahead yet at the same time right in line with where I was at. As I reached the end of book, I had the strongest urge to do two things. 1. recommend it to my mother and sister and 2. Pray for Jess. I prayed that God will bless her tenfold the way her journey and encouragement has blessed me. I pray that her household, her ministry, her children and her personal walk with Jesus is filled with abundance. I pray that God continues to give her the supernatural endurance and strength needed to continue sharing her world with us and inspiring women from many walks of life. I can only imagine what it cost her to be so transparent with us, but I am forever grateful. Also, I rarely (if ever) write reviews. So if you need a sign to buy the book...sis, this is it!

We Are The Girls For the Job!
Jess Connolly shares personal life stories, Biblical stories, scripture and her abounding faith to bring forth the powerful messages throughout You are the Girl for the Job. I love her inspirational, passionate, engaging, honest, and unique writing style that is sprinkled with humor. I savored the words and digested them slowly because they were so rich and satisfying to my soul. The words my soul has been hungry to hear, I AM the girl for the job!Everything the author shares is rooted in Christ as she walks the reader on a faith-filled journey of discovery of God’s powerful truths and promises, and the tools He’s given us to accomplish the tasks He lays before us. Jess Connolly discusses comparison, strengths and weaknesses, shame, self-doubt, defeat, fears, disbelief, and the messiness of our lives in a no-nonsense way which I love! She gets to the heart of the matter, the crucial truths we all need to hear. You are the Girl for the Job is broken down into 6 intentional steps towards abundant obedience; 1) Call it quits 2) Find your people 3) Use what you’ve got 4) Face your fears 5) Catch the vision 6) Make your move. This is definitely a book you’ll want to be armed with highlighters and a journal while you read it!Jess Connolly is so genuine and relatable and I found myself on so many pages of You are the Girl for the Job. I loved this amazing book and I am confident that countless lives will be transformed by the messages within. Women need to believe and live out the truth that we are the girls for the job, appointed by Jesus, for His glory! We are who God says we are.

Jess Does It Again!
Jess Connolly does it again with a book that will get you fired up to run on mission where you are at! You Are The Girl For The Job takes readers through “six steps towards abundant obedience,” helping you to refocus on your strengths, weaknesses, passions, and action steps. You may be thinking the title implies this is a book that sugar-coats our approach to mission and intends to leave you feeling nothing but good feels, but this book is meaningful, honest, and will remind you that our capacity only comes from recognizing God’s glory and abundance.“Here’s the secret:We are the girls for the job because of the God of all capacity who not only calls us but equips us, and dwells within us, enabling us to carry out His plans.”Jess does not let you think for even one moment while reading this book that you are the girl for the job because of your own power or ability. She fervently reminds you that it is all because of the God we serve.Whether you feel called to lead a ministry, publish a book, start a small business, or even be home raising children who are faithful disciples, this book will help you discern your motivations, abilities, and focus so that you can run on mission for the good of others and the glory of God

Need an encouraging read to remind you that you are exactly where God wants you?
I don't remember where I first heard about Jess Connolly or this book but I'm glad I did. Before chapter one ever begins you read, "It's time we quit arguing with God about our inadequacy and start relying on His capacity."This book does an excellent job of combining the Bible with practical steps and encouraging stories (mostly from Connolly herself) that we are the girl for the job and God put us where we are for a reason. She reminds us in a gentle way that our calling depends more on His abundance and His capacity than our own. Our society tries to force us into a burn-it-at-both ends culture and Connolly's saying there's another way. Maybe instead of burning it at both ends day in and day out we need to decide once and for all who we're really here for. Who are your people? Who's already listening to you? Do you have a captive audience right in front of you? While most of this book is encouraging and nice, the last section is titled, "Make Your Move." This might be the hardest of all because this is where the application actually takes place. She challenges you to put legs to the everything you read about prior. Given the flow of this book, the last chapter being titled, "You're Doing It Right," only seems appropriate. If you (or someone you know) needs an encouraging read to remind them they are exactly where God wants them and His story is always better than we think, this is the book for them.

A little wordy
I am glad I read the book and I did get some good advice from it. However, it was definitely written for a younger generation. The words chosen and the phrases used were more suited to those thirty and younger.I also found some inaccuracies in her interpretation of scripture.

This book will free you up and put to death the lies culture shouts at us!
When I initially heard the message of this book, months before the book would even launch, I was so grateful and beyond excited. You Are The Girl For The Job is a message I was searching for, but was falling short everywhere I looked. I was getting overwhelmed and burnt out by the thought that I had to do it all and be this powerful girl boss in order to accomplish the dreams and desires God had put on my heart. But God has used Jess to combat this nasty lie that is rampaging our culture today. We cannot do it all. But in Jesus name, we are the girls for the job because He is mighty in us. This message will free you up to run into the life God has placed you in, excited and full of hope!

Trade self-help for connecting to the Source of Life.
In a self-help heavy world, this book will refresh your soul and point people back to the true source of a life of purpose and mission: faith in the God who has called you. In her bold yet friendly style, Jess will walk alongside you and give you the practical tools you need to take what God has deposited in you and run the race He's set before you all for His glory and the good of others. This book answers so many of the practical questions women ask when it comes to starting to live a life of purpose. I am recommending it to everyone I know.

I wanted to hate this...
I wanted to hate this book (sorry Jess!) because I usually hate cheerleadery books. But I just couldn't. Because the writing is beautiful and more importantly because Jess has so clearly written out of obedience and as a co-creator with God. Read this book to be encouraged in who God is and who you are and how we get to step into the story he is writing.
