Easy to install. Good intonation.
I was surprised at how well this nut extender works: Loosen strings, slip it over (original) nut and tune up. Very easy and the intonation is still spot on. Highly recommend.

Turns guitar into a dobro
I sold my dobro a few years ago because I didn't spend enough time to get good at it. I couldn't justify keeping it just to fart around on once in a while. I put this nut on the least expensive guitar I have - not a cheapo guitar but not high end. I now have a dobro any time I want. And it takes 5 minutes to put on or take off. Plus whatever time to tune to a chord. I feel like it has given that guitar new life. It sounds better as a dobro than as a guitar. Attached a picture in the hopes you can see how high it moves the strings. You could not play this your guitar as a slide guitar with this on - only as a lap dobro. Now I want to move the nut to my Gretsch Boxcar reso which I use for slide. I think that will sound amazing as a dobro.

Super easy and fast to install, I like the non permanent design, a little wide
I have an old guitar from my teenage years that has always been good to me, but the neck is shot and can't be fixed (one way truss rod, backbowed). Rather than throw it in the garbage, I grabbed one of these to raise the action to stupid high levels, tuned to open E, and use it as a slide guitar for a few songs live. It works perfectly, and was pretty cheap, I'm happy with it. The only reason I docked a star was because this thing is super wide. It looks a little awkard having both E strings hanging off the side of the fretboard, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't significantly affect tuning or intonation. I just would have preferred the option to get one slightly more narrow. Overall, I like it.

Perfect, inexpensive solution for making any guitar a lap steel.
I have an inexpensive electric resonator that had the nut cut too deeply. Rather than dig it out and put in a new nut and have to cut it, I thought I'd try this under $10 solution since I planned on using the guitar for lap steel / slide playing anyway. It works perfectly. Now you cannot use it for bottleneck as conventional fretting is impossible, but for straight slide or lap steel playing it works like a dream. The best part - if you have a guitar with a properly cut nut, you can easily remove this and go back to normal playing. Very, very pleased as I got the results I wanted for far less than installing a new nut would have cost.

This is a great tool!
I am using this on an old acoustic guitar I have to see if I will like the setup enough to buy and learn to play a lap steel. This is a solid unit that fits right over your existing nut - no modifications needed. It might be a little wide for your guitar. Check this out before buying. Mine works great! Great sound!

So I ordered the perfect guitar nut after reading a review for another one ...
I had an old Gibson Explorer style electric guitar laying around that had a few frets that were buzzing. Instead of having fretwork done on it, I decided to use it for a lap steel guitar. So I ordered the perfect guitar nut after reading a review for another one that said the Grover was better. As soon as I got it, I put it on the guitar and it works great. I have been anting to play around with laptop steel guitar but didn't want to buy a lap steel guitar. being able to use an old guitar that was just laying around saved ,e a good sum of money. I was really surprised at how high this raised the strings up from the fretboard. It works great and it is dirt cheap. Now all I have to do is learn how to play lap steel guitar. that's the hard part. Setting the guitar up to do it is the easy part.

Does What It's Supposed To and is Easy to Use
This was really easy to install, since it only required me to loosen my strings to the point that I could slide it under them. I did notice that it was a little wider than my fretboard, and did hang over the edges a little, but that isn't an issue to me. I've been playing around with my new converted slide guitar and it's been pretty fun. Because it is easy to remove/add, I'm looking forward to having the ability to take it off of my acoustic and put it onto my electric whenever I feel like it. It does what it's supposed to, and it is solidly built. I'm not sure what else I'd be looking for in this kind of product. I can't speak to the slot sizes on this nut, but I haven't had any issues playing with the one I ordered, so it worked out for me. I'd recommend this product if you're looking for a cheap and effective way to convert over to slide guitar.

A great solution for converting an old acoustic guitar to a lap steel!
I own a old (circa 1935) Bel-Tone resonator guitar that I bought at a flea market for $5. The neck is too bowed for fretting, but the string height isn't high enough for sliding. I decided to give this Grover nut a try. It works PERFECTLY as the product name implies. Installation was a snap. All I had to do was detune the strings, slip the Grover nut into place and retune. Now the string height is just right for playing the guitar as a lap steel. The Grover nut is a few millimeters wider than the original nut, but that is good because the string spacing at the nut is now exactly the same as the bridge, which is important for steel playing. I am very, very happy with the result!

If you're like me and just want to add some lap steel to your recordings once in a while, but don't want to buy a lap steel and have it collecting dust, this is the answer. Raises the action perfectly; no concern for touching frets, but you can still feel the neck and fretboard. It widens the string spacing a bit as well, just the right amount. As you can see in the pic, the edge is designed to match the edge on the nut it's sitting on, so it doesn't change the scale (string length). Simple design, fits perfectly on my Casino Coupe, finish and workmanship are great. Bottom line... you can't go wrong. Much better than spending money on a low end piece of junk lap steel.

It's wider than most electric guitar nuts so it spreads the strings wider and raises them higher which is perfect for playing slide. It really turns your guitar into a Lapsteel guitar. The action with this does become to high to useably fret but it does a great job and it's cheap and well made.
