great product not as hot as i thought but great value for money battery life wise and durability wise

Based on some of the other reviews I read I decided to do a bit of testing on my own. I first used a 1.3ah slim battery with it and observed the heat output and fan speed on both high and low settings. Then I installed the provided 5ah battery and the output was significantly different. The heat output almost doubled and the fan speed was noticeably faster on both the high and low settings. I then used a 9ah battery and the difference was much more subtle, almost undetectable. As for length of use per charge I think those that expected this to be used for lengthy projects like stripping paint or heating vinyl will be disappointed, this isn't meant to replace a corded heat gun for those applications. I think this fits very well in the intermittent use category often associated with heat shrink tubing, sticker pealing, and other short duration applications.

I received the wrong item at first, this company was helpful and kind getting me the right item in a timely manner, this is a good quality item.

If you need a heat gun this is an excellent option. Eventually all power tools will be cordless. DeWalt has produced a great option, while the other manufacturers haven't bothered to design or manufacture one. This unit accepts all 20v DeWalt batteries. If the battery needs to be recharged, it is easy and simple to use another 20v battery from another DeWalt tool. This heat gun works much better than a butane torch when a power outlet is not available.

Heat Gun kit comes with DCB115 charger that has 4 amp output. I gave the charger to my mom so she could upgrade from her DCB112 with 2 amp output. The higher the amps the quicker the charger can charge batteries.With the fully charged 5 Ah battery, mine ran on low setting for 41minutes and 28seconds. On the high setting with fully charged battery, it ran for 17minutes.I could discern by touch the heat difference between the two settings. The fan will not blow with the same force as the 110 volt plugin heat guns.The cordless heat gun is going to be used for adding heat shrink tubing to cable splices. I have a project underneath the house involving splicing power tap cables for my TV antenna distribution amplifier and preamplifier to a 120 volt source through a hole the wall plugs cant fit through. This heat gun and a portable soldering iron that runs on 20 volt max Dewalt batteries is all that I will need to complete the project. My outdoor antenna picks up 25 plus channels from over 40 miles away with the amplifiers. It will be so nice not having to crawl under the house with a 110 volt corded heat gun and extension cord.Corded heat gun will continue to get used for medium to heavy duty projects the cordless heat gun cant handle.A multi layered nozzle would have been nice to have with this setup. I am now searching for quality 33mm nozzles for this heat gun. So far, not much success in this endeavor.12-07-2024I deducted one star for product not having layered nozzle like some of the other brands for sale on here. For the price of the kit with battery and charger and the bare tool only, it should have at least 3 to 4 nozzles included with the kits.I had to shrink wrap heat shrink tubing in a confined space. The wide nozzle just barely achieved the task.

mine came in an white amazon padded mailer with the kit compiled out of individual pieces that they've cobbled together. The charges isn't even in packaging or anything, it's just loose rolling around a bag. The tool is in a different box where the model number doesn't match the Dewalt model number of this item. avoid or just buy used if you don't mind this experience.I purchased from the TOOL GUY and apparently that's not even covered under the AtoZ guarantee, go figure! The more we accept this, the more they'll do it.

It works great. I love that you don't have to hold on to it like most heat guns
