Herb Pharm Better Bitters Certified Organic Digestive Bitters, Orange, 1 Ounce

I've had the original flavor as well, but I like this flavor better. It is bitter but more palatable since the orange flavor distracts you from some of the bitterness. I've noticed improvements in my digestion when I take this before a meal, especially in the morning. Would highly recommend!

Works FAST, but chase it with water or something else, it is bitter indeed. Kind-of like the white pith of an orange. It's far better than suffering with a bad stomach though.

Naturopath recommended this to me to use before and/or after meals to help my digestion. It definitely seems to have helped, I even use it if it’s been a few hours and my stomach feels heavy or if I wake up with that feeling. It has a pleasant orange taste over the bitter as well.

I have low stomach acid, which is also a cause for reflux, especially as you age. My functional med doctor recommended this and it seems to be helping. Haven't had reflux since using.

My doctor suggested this because I was having a hard time with acid and wanting to eat along with several medical issues. This really helps prevent the acid. I also take it when I have a migraine and don't want food/feel hungry, but also know I should eat. I take it, my partner and I start making something (usually I let her choose because I'm still nauseous), then after about 10-15 minutes, I feel hungry and ready to eat. It's super effective.

I've now tried both the classic and orange flavor of these bitters. I also frequently use Herb Farm tinctures so have something to compare it with for alcohol quantity. The bitters have so much alcohol that they leave my mouth and throat burning like I just had a shot of straight hard liquor and I even get a bit of a head buzz after them. The classic tastes largely of the anise, which at first was kinda okay since I like the taste of anise, but by the time I was done with the bottle I was really tired of it. The alcohol burn made the whole thing so unpleasant that I got to the point I really didn't want that anise taste anymore since it was associated with the burn. I next tried the orange flavor - even worse. I can barely use it. It tastes like I'm taking straight shots of triple sec or other orange based liquor. The alcohol flavor and burn are worse than the classic on this one which hardly seems possible. You'd probably save some money and have a better experience if you simply chewed on some orange peel instead. As for affect on my digestion, the classic did actually seem to do something but the orange isn't doing anything for me that I can tell. I just ate and took some of the Herb Farm ginger tincture to help with my digestion because the orange bitters are doing so little for me and that's when I realized just how much alcohol must be in the bitters compared to their normal tinctures. Even with the heat of the ginger mixed with an alcohol base, the overall burn was much less than I get with these bitters, especially the orange flavor ones. Absolutely don't recommend if you are someone who prefers to avoid hard liquor for any reason.
