Easy to use, works as described, comes with lots of salt and pepper, well worth the cost!

I wanted salt and pepper that didn't leave mess under the grinder. This set is just perfect. You can easily select the size and get the salt or pepper you want. Everything about this set is easy-to-use.

The pros are they stay clean and leave no residue under them because of their design. The opening is also plenty big enough to refill easily. The cons are they should've made it to sit solidly on the counter when filling it, instead of having to prop it up, and it just doesn't feel as well made and quality as it ought to for this amount of money they're charging. Is it glass? or plastic? I think it's plastic, which would be kind of a shame. It does grind very good, with noticeable differences in the settings.

If you don't mind that look of the grinder being on top, everything is great. The grind is very good and adjustable, but center setting is perfect. Finish is good and the clear area is glass and not plastic. Had for six months now, and no issues. We're pretty picky about our grinders given most are garbage.

Disappointed that for this price the whole thing feels and sounds like plastic. Description says chrome. (by definition chrome is plated metal). I would say that is false advertising. The shiny part feels like plastic, the clear part is acrylic. It sounds cheap. I was replacing OXO top dispense grinders and they are metal. My OXO grinders last about 4 years before I need to replace. I am on my second set of OXO and thought I would try something different. I like that it dispenses from the top and doesn't leave a mess. I will try and see if it performs like it should. I have written to Cole and Mason directly to get clarification. They do have a lifetime guarantee. Response from Cole and Mason: The mill is mainly comprised of chrome covered ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) with a clear acrylic chamber. The top cap (which is marked with P for pepper and S for salt) is stainless steel.

These salt and pepper shakers not only look beautiful, they are also very functional. The grinder settings work very smoothly and there are distinct differences in the coarseness of each setting from very coarse to very fine. These are made of quality materials from the chrome and glass container to the ceramic and carbon steel grinders.

Who ever thought I would pay this much for a S & P set but it beats the salt and pepper pieces all over the counter, stove and table.This design keeps the surface clean!! Easy to fill, easy to use.Highly recommend it

For the price of this set, I thought that they would be made of metal and glass. The "chrome" is plastic and the clear part is acrylic. Not really what I was expecting. However, they work well and look good and are a nice size. I do like that the grinders are on top so they are not messy. Hopefully they last.

I have a different set by Cole & Mason that I use on the table, which I bought based on a recommendation in Cook’s Illustrated. So I returned to this company when I decided I wanted a set of grinders to fit in one of my spice drawers so they’d be handy when cooking. These are perfect and their design means they don’t shed salt or pepper in the drawer. I’d definitely recommend to others.

I love the way it works, and that the debris is supposed to be on the top. I get some fine salt dust that falls to the table beside my plate when I use it, but its a big improvement over the previous mill that sits over where it expels.One problem: The threads of the screw cap that holds the salt in have easily worn out because on first use they became cross threaded because the threads are so shallow.
