Contact: Alien Invasion, Book 2

They Make Contact!
Contact is a great continuation of the story that began in Invasion. Meyer is still one of the nine abducted missing and now Heather and Lila are having visions/dreams about him and the future. Cameron and Piper embark on a mission to Moab, Utah in search of much needed answers. I don't want to give too much away, but the story is fast-paced, with some awesome alien attacks towards the end. I personally enjoy following the characters on their journey just as much as the alien parts. I purchased Colonization directly after reading the last page. This story is one that demands attention, and I intend to read all seven installments to see how this all plays out! Fans of Sci-Fi/Action/Thrillers will eat this series up!

Exciting and intriguing
This second book of the series fills out the characters and explains more of what is happening. The main characters find themselves trying to travel a route of exploration and search for a missing an ancient relic of some kind. They believe the aliens left it hear when they had been to Earth before. Someone stole the artifact and the aliens seem desperate to find it, but seem to be content to let the humans do the work. Can't wait for more! Great read!

Another Win in the Invasion Series
First, in "full disclosure" I read every series that Platt, Truant, and Wright put out. They are by far, the most talented group of "Indie Writers" around. After reading Invasion, which without spoiling, is about the over used topic of Alien Invasion, I eagerly awaited the 2nd book in the series as I always to with these guys. Holy Cr*p I was riveted until the last page. I have such a difficult time with these reviews as it's so hard for me to not rave effusively and at the same time, not give away the plot. How these guys manage to take an idea as old as sci-fi itself and make it fresh, compelling, and something you can't put down is beyond me. All I know is they do it every time in every series for me.If you're just starting the series, buy all 3. For me the hardest part is always waiting for the next one.

Great Read!
I enjoyed reading Contact. Rather than being a story about how humans fight the aliens (so far), it's more about how people react to the presence of aliens when nobody knows what's going on yet or what the aliens want. Some people want to study things, some want to loot and murder, some want to hide. As in the first book, the story centers mostly around one family, though in this book some other characters take on more prominent roles. Some parts of it are adventure and some parts of it are more like putting a bunch of characters in a box and shaking it up to see what happens. It's fun to go along for the ride. The entire book is engaging and engrossing. There are some parts where I'm still not sure what was going on, so I hope those few things will be revealed or explained more in the next book, which I've already started reading (Colonization). I liked Invasion a lot, and I liked Contact even better.

Great storyline great plot just plain great writing!
First of all this book had a great premise. The storyline but not completely original as far as invasions go but let's face it you can only be so original it's been done a million times. Football what was lacking in a new type of sci-fi trailer the rider is made up for in their incredible Talent of flushing out the characters in the storyline. One of the hardest things to do when you right and I do a little bit of writing myself is to make the reader care about your characters. I am currently reading the third installment really liking the way the plot is laid out really enjoying the way the story is presented from different points of view from the different characters in the book. Also like the fact that they're not afraid to introduce new characters even halfway through the series which is always exciting to see how the new characters will play Within the plot line. The great work here great riding very imaginative descriptions of the environments of characters find themselves in. I will be reading more from them as they become available on Amazon. Keep up the great writing guys.

An excellent alien invasion story
At first, I wasn't sure about this book. Never heard of the authors before, never read an alien invasion book before... there were a lot of unknowns. But i gave it a try and am so glad I did. The character development in this book is amazing. The plot, fantastic. There was a whole lot I didn't see coming and while I didn't want the story to end, i also could not wait to turn the page and see what would happen next. And wow, it still wasn't what I expected! When I finished, I could not wait to read the next book, then the one after that. All that's left to say is "FINISH THE SERIES GUYS!".

Great sequel!
The sequel, or second volume of the series, exceeds the first book by a fair amount. The plot thickens, as they say. The alien invasion has progressed and strange psychic things are happening - mind reading, thought sharing, call it what you will. The aliens are not new to Earth and their purpose is possibly quite malevolent. I guess we will find out in the next books...

Compelling Characters
The second book of this trilogy is better than the first. Despite the episodic road trip nature of the first book (and the occasional logic bobble) I found the characters compelling enough to continue thinking about them well after I'd finished -- so I was happy the next book was scheduled for a quick release. CONTACT feels less drawn out than INVASION. The characters behave believably given their personalities and the stress they're under. For the most part, the plot moves right along, although there was one twist that I thought was for the authors' convenience.I'm looking forward to reading the final installment.

Aliens abduct fiction writing standards?
I struggled through the first book in this series and decided to persevere with the second. It is very rare that I don't finish a novel, but somewhere at less than half-way through 'Contact' I ground to a halt.Part of it, I confess, is that I increasingly objected to the authors' obsession with describing seemingly every other emotion, event or dilemma as 's&%t. I am not a prude by any means, but this became utterly depressing. Does this descent to bodily functions really enhance the story? Not for me.The writing style and overly liberal use of parentheses in particular is weird to say the least (I reflected on writing this sentence and decided to include it). They interrupt the flow of the plot, (such as it is), with such ruinous regularity that I found myself growing tense in anticipation of the next piece of written sabotage (I am not usually such a vehement critic, but I need to be honest).I mentioned plot. Well, perhaps it has been saved for the remaining 50% of the trilogy (i.e., a book and a half away from where I stopped - oh, sorry for the bracketed interruption). With some relief, I shall never know! There are far better conceived, written and delivered sci-fi novels around. (Really).

Lost interest half way through.
First book was quite enjoyable, enough for me to want to download the second in the series. I have to say however, that I found this book very hard going as it seemed to me that the authors were going a bit crazy as well as the characters. I lost interest, although I made myself read to the end, but I wont be buying any more in the series.

Difficult to evaluate
I cannot quite make my mind up about this book and the series in general. The plot seems rather far fetched at times and somewhat over detailed in areas that do not, in my opinion, add overmuch to the story. The characters are fairly well described but I am afraid I simply cannot relate to any of them. All that being said, the book does have a certain appeal and is quite well written.

Wow
Fantastic story couldn't put down. The characters are well written, you care what happens to them. I would highly recommend this series. Well done

Great reading
As a follow on to Invasion, this book takes the Dempsey family to their secure bunker and allows the tensions to build. This may seem a slow read, but given the context and acting as a follow-up to Invasion, the story builds depth to all the characters. I can't wait to start the next instalment
