Great little roaster for the price. The little burner is butane fueled & recharged at the base with standard butane canister. Quiet running to allow one to monitor the roasting. Stainless steel drum gets very hot. Follow their directions ( lower the heat) when the beans start to emit smoke. Pull away heater when 1st crack begins if you like light roasts. Recommend Buy.

For the price it's a decent roaster. The small stove thing it comes with is useless and I never use it. Instead I put it on it's side on my stovetop and it works much better. If you're not picky about the roast of your coffee or you're just starting to roast coffee for the first time or looking for a not too expensive coffee roasting solution than this is a great option. However, this roaster isn't great in roast uniformity. It does have fins on the inside which help mix the coffee while roasting, but it doesn't do a great job mixing the coffee. That means some beans are more done than others. Some beans will enter second crack while others have yet to cracked. Basically it gets the job done and if that's what you want then go for it. If you want precise roast levels you're going to have to spend more money. Great for the price.

Nice item. I found a deal on it too. Looks to be well constructed and has a simple design. I like the heavy red base as not only a heat shield but adds stability as well.

I spent a lot of time thinking about which one I should buy. When I saw it, I knew it was what I wanted. The design is very refined and retro. I can using it to roasting peanuts and coffee beans. YES! I found my favorite roaster!
