Good for anyone who can use a transfer belt.
This is a very well-made product. You can feel the quality in the materials. If you are already using a transfer belt successfully, this will definitely be an upgrade. Unfortunately for me and my patient, this was out first transfer belt, and we found out the hard way that transfer belts just don't work for every patient. I believe this is an excellent product for those who can use it correctly. If you have access to a physical therapist, try practicing with a temporary transfer belt if they have one, or use some other temporary version to see if this is the right mobility aid for you. If you try them out and decide they will really help you transfer your patient, I recommend this one. My patient has pretty sever spinal injuries, and we found out that transfer belts in general just don't support the right areas for us, but I know many other patients who love transfer belts, and this is definitely a good choice for anyone who can actually use them. Most are much thinner than this, and lack the handles. This model is really very nice, and good value for the price, and frankly, much nicer than the model in our physical therapists office.

Mobility Transfer System Safetysure Transfer Sling
I had hoped this transfer sling would help me to move my mother myself from wheelchair to bed. The problem I have is that the sling wants to slide up and it needs to stay just at or just above the waist. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.It does, however, work great for one person putting it around her calves to simultaneously lying her down and pulling legs up to bed.

very sturdy well-made item
very well made and sturdy item. My husband is 5'10" and weighs about 195. I am about 125 and cannot lift him with it standing in front of him because we are worried he will fall on me. He has very poor balance and very limited mobility. We use a sturdy transfer belt instead and I assist him from standing behind his chair.

Perfect for assisting those with limited leg strength
My husband is an incomplete quadriplegic and we love this thing so much, we bought three! (One for the bedroom, one for the bathroom, one for out-and-about.)He has the ability to stiffen his legs and pivot, and we do fairly frequent transfers. Belts are overkill and cumbersome to fasten, and also put a lot of pressure on a narrow area. Sliding boards are tricky to place safely, a lot of work to drag someone over, and hard on the rear. I had been grabbing a handful of trouser at each hip for transfers, but it was killing my hands.Enter the transfer sliing. It's really easy to slip in behind his back, it distributes the pull across a large area of back, it can be set low or higher on the back if part of the back is hurting. It also allows the caregiver to stay more upright and lean back rather than pull up, which is so much better for the back muscles. For smaller patients like my husband, the second, longer set of straps are unnecessary and actually cause problems by getting caught on things, so we just cut them off. The sling doesn't roll up or fold, but we found it fits just fine in the tote bag hanging on the back of his chair (with some sticking out the top, but secure).

This is amazing. We lean back while holding onto the straps
If I could give this more stars I would. This works amazingly. We had been using a towel to get my mother to stand, and pulling her by the arms. This is amazing. We lean back while holding onto the straps, and she pops right up. It has a grip pad on it so it doesn't slide up her back. It also is padded. She weighs about 230 and it fits around her. We keep it on her wheelchair and it hooks over the handles, which is there when we need it and looks good. Highly recommend this for anyone who needs assistance standing. We even keep it under her arms some, to help guide her into her chair. This saves from pulling on her arms and it keeps her in balance since you are pulling each side equally. We have been using this strap several times a day for the past 10 months since she had several strokes. She sit's on in a lounger and it's impossible to get her out of the chair without assistance. She also has only one good arm. If you need to assist someone, you need this strap.

Not worth the money
very expensive and poorly made. we have one we ordered from the same company a few years ago and it was made so much better. we are still using it. the "new" one began to fall apart after two uses.

Extra pair of hands
My mother has dementia and we have good days and bad days. On the bad days she was not able to hold up her own weight, so it would be difficult for me to try and hold her up (i.e to pull up panties after using toilet) on my own. This sling gave me an extra pair of hands since I was able to use the longer handles, pulling them together, and holding with one hand while now being able to use my other hand for whatever was needed. I could then switch hands and have the other hand available if I needed to switch sides and such. It was also easier to reposition her in the reclining chair she enjoys sitting in. This is so much easier to use than the gait belt I was given upon my mother's discharge from the hospital!

Nifty Caregiver's aid
I bought this to use with my husband who has ALS. He can still transfer a little bit but it's pretty exhausting for him. I saw this online and for the price, I thought what do I have to lose. This is pretty slick in assisting him to get out of his wheelchair. It is wide enough to provide back support. I love the double handles. The only thing I wish is that it would roll or something to be able to take with you and store in a bag or backpack on the chair to always have it with you. We don't have a power or hydraulic lift yet and this is the first step that saves a caregiver's back and provides stability while lifting the patient. The handles allow you to steady the patient once up for easy transfer.
