Perfect! I was given an Ulu many years ago by a friend who went to Alaska. She told me I’d never need another knife. I’ve used it ever since! This one I bought for my grandson who wants to be a chef 😀The bowl keeps everything in one place. The blade is sharp and requires little pressure. Clean cuts every time. Much better than a conventional knife!

Not just one but two satisfied customers. I bought one for me after seeing an Ulu knife on a tv prog and liked the style. As my sons birthday was approaching I bought him one as well. We found them very sharp and easy to use, so versatile they have replaced many of the knives we use in the kitchen and we have many. We would recommend these knives to everyone.

This would be a great product if 1) It didn't split in half after a month of light use, and 2) if this were a couple inches in diameter larger it would have been a great product. It was extremely effective - but you could not even chop a large onion without massive spillover getting onion chunks all over your counter. Bell peppers were fine, chopping garlic was fine, but those are all the easiest to chop anyways.If someone would make a durable product that was a 10 inch bowl instead of 8 - I would gladly pay ~$60-70 as this would be the perfect chopping product.

I was trying to come up with a thoughtful gift for my husband, since he usually just buys whatever he wants. I remembered he kept talking about a blade that he really liked using for cooking while living in Italy that was called a "half moon blade". I looked and looked for something called that and this was my best guess. He opened his present and said it was wrong. :( He was talking about a mezzaluna blade. But since then I have decided that this blade/board set is still awesome. The bowl part fits perfectly with the blade and makes chopping easier. I've been able to cut up chocolate from a bar into the tiniest bits, finely chop onions.... Anyways, I am keeping this Ulu set for myself-- I don't regret buying this at all.However, I have learned that it's not a great idea to wash the board and close it away in my cupboard. A little bit of mold grew on the wood, but that's my own fault.

Purchased as a gift after I got so many compliments on my own. Use it everyday, knife is sharp, love how neatly everything is chopped in the bowl. Turn over and use as a regular board. My brother and his wife also loved their gift, it is very presentable and beautiful. I apply mineral oil to the bowl board periodically to keep it from drying out.

Bought two of these, one for me and one for my daughter. We wanted to make chopped salads. The wooden cutting board bowl is not deep enough for me, I would have preferred a deeper bowl for cutting, but that me. I use the knife all the time to chop things. Very sharp. The year that I have had this set it has held up great and still as sharp as the day I got it.

I have had my Ulu Factory Ulu Bowl and Birch handled Ulu for several years. I love it and use it all the time for chopping nuts, peppers, vegetables, chocolate, and may other food items! I have given them as gifts a lot because everyone who sees me use mine has to try it. Once they try mine, they are so impressed with how handy it is and want one too!
