Made My First Visit A Successful and Fun Adventure!
This is an excellent guide book, filled with well-researched and cleverly written suggestions for your travel adventure. The included maps provide detailed information without being overwhelming. The book is divided into Southern Sweden, Central Sweden, and the North, including Lapland. Each section is further divided by cities, making the book very easy to navigate. Each city section provides a great overview, must-see destinations, and then hotel, restaurant, and sight-seeing/tour information. Travel tips are also a part of the book. I recently completed a self-drive tour of central Sweden, and Lonely Planet's book went into much more detail than our trip's planned itinerary and provided us with interesting information on additional places to visit. This came in very handy when our GPS failed us, or if the venue we on our itinerary was closed. Warning: the Swedish summer tourist season is brief, and many places are shut down by early September. I highly recommend Lonely Planet's Sweden--it gave delightful and accurate info to this very novice traveler!

Detailed travel guide for Sweden.
Great Travel Guide for Sweden. It covers Stockholm very well, along with the rest of the country. Great fold-out map of Stockholm in the back, along with several regional maps of the rest of Sweden and principle cities. I like that it rates the principle attractions, gives a brief description and locates them on the map. It has an easy-to-use phrase book with phonetic spellings.

Had enough info on Stockholm and southern Sweden. We relied on more info with friends and Tripadvisor.

Bring your reading glasses
The good news: All the great things said by everyone else about content. The Bad news? Very small, dense type which makes the book hard to read and even harder to simply browse.

Great Buy
Love this little book! It's packed full of information. Wish it had a few more pictures of attractions, but that is the only critical thing I can think of. Very organized and very thorough.

Outdated & Lacking In Helpful Information
Having recently returned from a holiday in Sweden, we found that that the book was pretty useless. The information was very out of date (the book was published last year, but was more up-to-date than the Rough Guide) & didn't actually give you much detailed information. For example - using the trains or the busses & what the different types of ticket/trains there were. Plus prices have risen significantly since the book was published, for example the cathedral which the book reports as free now charges 40SEK to get into, plus the Stockholm Card no longer exists (replaced with a Stockholm Pass - expensive & difficult to find info about to work out if value for money) as it stopped in August 2015. There were other examples of this. Now whilst it is unreasonable to expect the book to be always up-to-date, the issue was the fact that nothing was very useful in the book at all, even down to information on the places you wanted to visit - there was little historical information about the places (which ultimately would have been useful when deciding whether you want to pay the entrance fees to places, e.g. 180SEK to get into Skansen or 130SEK to get into the Vasamuseet) or how to actually get to the different places (e.g. where ferries to Drottningholm or Djurgarden go from). One of the issues with the Swedish places of interest was that there was very little interpretation/information & the book was of little help in that regard. Rough Guides are generally better for this.We also travelled around Sweden a little & again the book was of little help in navigating the Swedes complicated system of trains & busses (probably to the initiated it isn't complicated, but to the uninitiated, it seemed it!). Generally the book could have done with more information on everything, from places of interest to transport. Disappointed is the overall feeling the book has left us with and honestly, this guide has put me off buying Lonely Planet again & will ultimately stick with Rough Guides in future as experience of them gives a greater level of info/detail on places. That said, this guide only being published 15 months ago is now badly in need of up-dating & so the Rough Guide must need it more.

Love it!
I just couldn't find the information online for a real overview of Sweden - not just the capital city!! This book is brilliant and is full of inspiration. Absolutely love it and it's really easy to navigate. Will definitely be taking it with me when I go!
