Cold Creek Dog Proof Trap Setter

I ordered this with the trap, on the strength of the reviews of the Duke DP raccoon trap. It was good that I did, because my hands weren't strong enough to set that thing without help. Possibly an iron rod or some sort of lever could've been cobbled up but this fits and allows the catch to swing through it to engage the dog. It made it easy and quick to set. This thing works.

Setter tool works very nice. Easy to set numerous traps very quickly. The tool can be had for cheaper for a couple bucks cheaper on a couple of trapping sites (if you're doing an order for other stuff elsewhere), otherwise, this one came quick.Tool is fairly thick and won't bend. Coated in a nice color to protect and make it more visible while in the field. If you have numerous coon traps to set, get one of these to save the calories for other traps, stakes, etc.

Couldn't set the trap without this tool.

Just buy it, its pretty much impossible without it setting up the DP traps. Only con is the paint that peels off when using it but not a huge deal breaker. I was able to set my traps with ease

When it is new the trap is near impossible to set without a tool. This tool makes that problem disappear.
