Stug III and Stug IV: German Army and Waffen-SS Western Front, 1944-1945 (TankCraft)

First the bad and the reason it didn't receive five stars; horribly bound. Almost half the pages were loose before I even opened the cover. Had this been a paper-back novel, it would have rated just 1 star for that reason.However, I am a modeler and the ease of using a single page for reference as opposed to an open book mitigates the defective binding a great deal, costing it only1 star.The good; it is a beautiful book for those of us who build models. Nice (somewhat limited) photos of Stugs in action, but we've all seen those. It is the color drawings and the color photos of models that make this book stand out. I wish I had this when I built my IV. This book combined with squadron's will supply you with plenty of ideas, great references, and as a bonus a huge amount of inspiration.The list of available kits and after-market products help make this the go-to book for any one considering a Stug build. Its made me put aside my early war Panzer IV, and pull out a late war Stug.

The amount of research behind this book, not least about unit histories, the terrific photos and paintings - just wow! Simply baffled and I have had no problems with loose pages (see previous reviewer).

An Excellent all round book,lots of great photos and pictures,loads of in-depth information about how this tank came about and it's strengths and weakness on the Battlefield. A model makers dream to have,to help in camouflage painting information.

Outstanding detail....nothing else to add but to say that I wish that this book was around years ago
