Increases reception for your new HT
It’s LONG, so expect some looks from licensed and unlicensed people. Definitely increases reception on both bands. How much depends on variables. Made from good materials. I’d repeat if I get another HT.

Improvement over stock UV-5R antenna
I bought these to go on a UV-5R and a UV82X3. They feel durable and well made.In my testing both of the HYS 771N antennas performed better than both of the stock Baofeng antennas I have at 70 cm, at 2m the Baofeng antennas still have the edge.771N:1.59,1.49 (2m) and 1.2, 1.23 (70cm)UV5R antennas:1.24,1.28 (2m) and 2.1,2.2 (70cm)The HYS 771N definitely outperforms the two Nagoya NA-771 antennas I have tested, and so I am keeping them, and will perhaps update the review down the road.

Not watertight !
Doesn’t fit snugly to a UV 5-R XP. Allows water in and can have issues fitting

These antennas are good.
I bought these antennas for a portable DMR repeater, these antennas both test good on an antenna analyzer for both bands.
