Polar Fleece Solid Ivory, Fabric by the Yard

Well here's another one star rating. Like previous reviews, my 2 yards came with a substantial amount of hair. Much of it appeared to be trimmings as there were little TUFTS of clearly cut hair. I'm not even certain that it's animal hair as it appears to me to be human. Additionally, there were clear stitch marks down opposing sides. The hems had been opened and thread removed but the folds and needle marks definitely there.Unless otherwise indicated I assume everything sold here to be "new and unused". This an extreme disappointment. Since my initial use was to make some visibility panels for a ground blind this is not necessarily a deal breaker. Had I been looking to use this to make a garment I'd have returned it in a heartbeat.If you're looking for off the bolt fabric, look elsewhere!

Got this last week and opened the package today....and found a LOT of brown “hairs” inside the fabric. See photos......not sure what kind of “hairs” they are, but they look long and animal like. I am hoping it is some type of synthetic “hair”. While I’m sure the fabric itself is okay in quality, I don’t feel comfortable using this for my blanket now......its now going to the dog beds.

I work with fleece quite a bit recently. I have never ordered Newcastle fleece before. I definitely will NOT be ordering it again. This stuff is like no fleece I recognize. It's basically crap, and I now have 4 yards of the stuff. It's VERY thin. It is NOT soft. AT ALL. It has this funky, chemically film all over it that leaves a sticky residue on your hands. It kind of reminds me of felt from back in the 70's and 80's maybe. I have no idea what other people were reviewing, but I ordered based on the reviews I read for this product and I am HUGELY disappointed. Definitely NOT A FAN of Newcastle Fleece.

This is fabric is the texture and softness of low ply fleece but not quite as thick as normal fleece. The thickness and sturdiness is more like a thick felt, but minus the roughness of felt.Quite similar to a blanket companies give out for free promo meant to be tossed in the car and used to sit on grass or take off the chill in autumn, if that makes sense.We buy this a few yards at a time for our one cat’s bedding (they each are very blanket picky) and cut it up as needed.It’s excellent for pets as there are no dangerous loose strings, no matter how sloppily you cut it.It’s very similar to pet blankets you’ll find on amazon, but much more cost effective if you, like us, have a pet who seems to believe eating is a race and as a result is prone to nausea or some other less than charming traits :)Definitely our go to fabric for this, and our go to seller. We’ve purchased with this company before and are always thrilled with their product and their “under promise, overdeliver” speedy shipping times.

Whoever cut my two yards did so at an angle, so I had to trim it quite a bit to make the rectangular blanket I was working on. HOWEVER, the angle did not detract from my two yards, so I was not shorted any fabric! It did arrive clean and plush, as if I'd just brought it home from a fabric store.Added a photo of my finished project - a large constellation baby blanket, the fleece backed with flannel and edged with satin blanket trim.

It is fleece! It is soft! It does comes with hair. But to be fair, I do think it is doll hair. So with that in mind I bought this for my rats, to make bedding rags and pee mats. It would be used for clothes and blankets too. Who cut this, a two year old? The fabric is cut SO unevenly with huge gashes in it. As well (pictured) it’s covered in some sort of animal hair or fibers. That’s gross. Now I have to wash it and try and remove whatever this is before I can use this fleece. Boo. I guess it’s still an orange square of fleece so that’s alright.

Lovely fabric and good quality and price... but, even though the description clearly states that multiple yards ordered will be sent in one continuous piece, it was cut in 2 yard pieces. The pieces received seem to be from the same bolt and of the same dye lot. Hopefully the pattern pieces for my project will fit! If they don’t, I will be returning my order. I ordered four different colors and they were all sent in two yard pieces. I questioned this when I was sent the shipping notifications and the response I received was that they didn’t know why this was done. Was it because they only had poly packaging envelopes that fit two yards at a time?
