The ability to adjust the sensitivity for the fingerprint is a major winner for this device. I spent $250 on another biometric lock and just threw it away that it was so unreliable. Spend a little bit more for something that works.

ReliTouch Biometric and PIN Handle Lock Satin ChromeI did quite a bit of research before purchasing their ReliTouch Biometric and PIN lock. The reviews were pretty consistent and decided to make the plunge into the new technology. I purchased it on Amazon as I'm a prime member and do most of my shopping on there. The lock arrived and as it had to have holes drilled in the door and looked to be a little beyond my 'locksmithing' abilities. Good thing I did as the locksmith we hired (and had used many times in the past) couldn't install the lock. After talking to the manufacturer we were told it was defective and they would send us a new one right away. Due to shipping delays the lock arrived some 4 weeks later. The locksmith came back out and installed the lock. It worked for about a week, and then stopped opening from the inside. We connected with the manufacturer (Actuator Systems LLC) again and their response was it must be a latch issue, we'll send you three new ones. That seemed weird as we only have one lock. I'm guessing this must break often and they don't want to ship multiple times. I called the locksmith back to come install that (my locksmith bill is now over the cost of the lock) and he refused. He didn't want the liability of working on that lock again. In his opinion the product is inferior. That spoke quite a bit to me that a professional would refuse to do anything more on the lock. My team and I decided we would just go back to a regular lock and wait for technology to improve. I attempted to get a refund, but the seller (Echoshop) refused because Amazon's policy is 30 days and the seller was not willing to negotiate. Actuator Systems refused to do anything as they didn't sell it and didn't receive any of my money directly. I will never purchase something from this company and would recommend anyone considering a biometric lock look elsewhere and spend the extra money. I should have and it would have been much cheaper and safer in the long run.

This lock has a good set of functions (fingerprint and/or PIN, per-user timed access, logs), but is too unreliable to be useful. Specifically:It is very finicky about fingerprints -- most of our users need to try at least twice to get it to recognize them.It's slow to operate -- it typically takes 10-15 seconds to get the door open, which gets annoying quicklyIt's very sensitive to voltage drops. Once the batteries have been used even a little, you have to replace them.Ours has more or less quit working after less than a year.Support from Actuator Systems isn't very good. We installed the lock ourselves, so they immediately pointed the finger at us (although installation was straightforward). They have something like a 30 day warranty and there's a $90 fee in that case anyway.

This Lock works very good! The tech support on it is awesome! The guy knows all there is to know about it and then some. It is quite easy to use and has lots of features. Also easy to install

These locks are a piece of junk. I bought two of them along with the software. A total of $1200 invested. I installed one and started having problems with it after about 1 month. Called Actuator Systems and talked to them about it. They troubleshooted it to death. Could admit that something could be wrong with the lock. Finally agreed to let me send it back for repair. I sent it back with detailed description inside the box with all my info. In the meantime, I installed the backup lock that I had. After about two months I called about my lock. They had no record of it. I had to prove to them that someone signed for it that worked there. After about 6 months I finally got a lock back. Now the back up doesn't work. The fingerprint scanning is a joke. The handles won't stay tight and keep falling off. The other thing, is that you have to customize the door to accept the lock. So if you want to change to a different kind of lock you are going to have unnecessarily holes in your door. This whole experience was terrible with this company and product. I have bout 50 employees so I liked the idea of having the control that this lock promised. It fell short of every aspect. Don't waste your money.
