Q: Can this item be used in an aquarium and not brake down and harm fish?

I wouldn't use it as a fully submerged planter. I found over time (within 6 months) I've had to be VERY careful even washing it otherwise the outer shell begins to crumble away. I'm using it for our snake as a planter & the appearance of the inside doesn't bother me as its hidden with dirt but since it's had constant moisture it looks terrible no more color, texture etc... these remind me of a Styrofoam sprayed with a colored hardening agent, once you wash 2 times it begins to wash off... not worth the $

Q: Can it be used as a watering hole for a tree frog? Is it 100% water retaining?

I’m not sure. I have a plant in mine and when I water the plant it doesn’t leak but not sure how it would hold water over time.

Q: Can it be used with a screened cage?

Yes, however, there will be 2 small rock shaped magnet on the outside of the enclosure.

Q: Would this work against a refridgerator?

No, it's two srong magnets that need to "meet" through an object - like a pane of glass, or other thin 'wall'
