Awesome
This product was exactly what the doctor ordered. My 2002 Lexus key self-destructed in my hand, and I did not have an extra key. The dealership wanted roughly $300 to cut a new key, OR there was an option to just replace the plastic shell on the key (which is all I needed)....for $100. Yep - $100 for a new, little, plastic key shell. I read the reviews here and took a chance on this product and it is awesome. Not only did it come with the shell, it comes with the all important key stabilizer that attaches to the metal shaft so there is no wiggle room or gap. It even came with the screwdriver required. As if that wasnt enough for just $10, it came with 2 complete sets, so if this ever happens again I am good to go. Highly recommend.

Great idea
Great idea but the shell is too narrow for the actual key. As soon as I installed the key the key slot split. Poor quality.

Works with Modification
This should be helpful for many! First, this did not work without modification for my 2002 Lexus LS430. The final result was great. So here’s what I had to do: take a look at my picture of the key. The key did not fit into the little black plastic piece. It went in, but wouldn’t go all the way in. It turns out the key width expands near the base. Without modification, mine would never fit. I used a Drexel tool to shave down the width to match the rest of the key. It fit perfectly afterward. If you have this issue, that’s the solution. If you don’t have the ability or the tools, send it back.

2003 ES 300. Push hard to get key through
The original key fob for Lexus es 300 2003 had cracked after dropping it. I liked that it came with the mini screw driver. The front and back part fit the original just right. It has the Lexus emblem like the original. The only thing that's different is the part where my metal key goes into. I had to put the metal key through that little piece shown in the picture. It was really tight. I was afraid I'd had to get another one. I needed someone else to put it through with much more force, which worked. So far so good!

Works great but only to repair a factory key
Works great but only to repair a factory key. I had two keys to repair, an original factory key and a replacement one purchased for $135 from a local locksmith. This worked perfect for the factory key ( note, you must break off the plastic from the metal key in order to fit the metal key into the small v shape retainer). The top of the aftermarket key however was not the same shape so this did not work for it.As one of the other reviewers noted, there is a small gap around the bottom of the shell when assembled. It order to avoid early failure I used some super glue to retain the key retainer to the front of the shell this made it feel sturdier while still allowing the opening of the shell to replace the battery in the future.

Quick fix without going to the dealer
Great idea, when I checked a while back I coudn't find an after market replacement key without paying over $100. This are not 100% without modifying either the key base or possibly the shell, and of my set of two one fit better than the other so some constistency issues, but at the price it is a great purchase and I ordered another set while this is even available. Remember you can easily pay over $200 for just one key through the dealer.

Not great but good enough
A much cheaper alternative than a key from the dealer. If you are buying this key then you are probably aware of the fatal flaw lexus keys have. The plastic shell is not strong enough and over time the shell separates from the force needed to twist the key in the ignition. Shame on lexus for designing such a poor key. You can take apart your old key and switch the "guts" overt this shell. I couldn't get the two halves together perfectly flush and looks a bit sloppy wihich is why I only gave 3 stars. The buttons are slightly more recessed than the original key. You may or may not like that but it does prevent you form unintentionally pressing the buttons.

perfect fit
You have to assemble it in the right order, but it fit my 2007 lexus rx350 key perfectly. No wiggling, no jammed parts, and its pretty solid when using it to turn my ignition.
