I use these nylon cables when I am making growing trellis for my square foot garden. I use PVC pipe and elbow connectors and heavy duty stakes to make the skeleton of the trellis and hold it securely in the ground. Using nylon square grid mesh, I use these cables to connect to the the mesh to the PVC pipe. I then trim the mesh to the right size. I've used this method with tall and short trellis and with in-ground raised beds as well as elevated box containers. The example photo is of my current cucumber plants growing in an elevated box container.I'm able to use this throughout the growing season and then at the end of the year, I cut through the mesh before discarding it so that it doesn't present a hazard to birds and other animals.This size cable connector is perfect. Any shorter and it would not reach around the pipe; any longer, and I am wasting cable and money.I use this style of cable connector in many ways throughout the house but I purchased this set particularly for use in the garden.

I needed alot of these cable ties for my holiday lights. They are not the strongest but they are also far from the weakest. I break 1 out of every couple dozen or so I use. Once they are on, they hold and for the price these are nearly unbeatable.

The ties work fine, but they are a little thin, so they are not going to be high strength. But for the price, they work as needed.
