Great value for military & outdoor people but especially for sofa commando prepper types
While paying 16£ as I did may not sound like a great deal when considering that you can buy much thicker and larger books with even better informational value, not to mention used books also offered on Amazon will blow out of the water any new book competition by several times better value, this is still a great book with a high informational density that can be easily read while traveling to work/school, and it is especially good to read during a holiday season where it due its survival basics content can save your life if things won't go according to plan, or you experience some natural or man-made disaster at home. Something that is these days not uncommon in previously on natural/man-made disasters somewhat "boring" Europe.Apart from all the usual stuff you can expect from a soldier's book like basics of first aid, day/night navigation, observation, low-observability, communication, team cooperation/chain of command with the description of various military roles, equipment loadout/basics of proper use, knobs, etc., there is also list and basic capabilities description of equipment and weapons used by (UK) army, all of which may conscript in troubled nations like Ukraine rushed through training process find life-saving during a decisionmaking process of when to be brave, and when to be cautious. Perhaps even more importantly, there is also rather detailed info with decent drawings and pictures all over the book on physical fitness basics and keeping hygiene and self-care discipline for a prolonged time, so you are able to operate in the outdoors as long as needed without ending a cripple due to not understanding limitations of your body. You would not believe how many outdoor and prepper folks failing miserably in this part of health sustainment which you can see in their loadout proudly shown on Youtube including 10 fire lighting methods, several knives, and flashlights but somewhat thinking that emergency blanket will just do it for them in heavy rain, that foot care is just for sensitive feminine types, and trading their life for defending overweight bug out bag instead of having detachable alternative with survival basics will not kill them due to lack of optional mobility when the only way to survive is to run... These types of sofa commandos need to read this book so badly it's not even funny because if they try to put their fantasies to the test before reading proper literature or learning from experienced, they likely end up with several years worth of debt for calling helicopter emergency services into the middle of nowhere, well if they got lucky, as bad planning and self-care in the outdoors will far more likely result in your demise than anything else, you truly are your worst enemy if poorly educated on challenges you are daring against.Cons:The only real gripe I have with this book considering the great information density in its size is the spreading assumption that Glock 17 is called so because of the 17 rounds in its magazine, which is utter nonsense when you consider the whole naming scheme in Glock family that has to do with model/patent number, and not what this book putting by claiming author assumptions as a fact, which will make you question the rest of information in this book. Perhaps this mistake was intentional to generate mostly positive review traffic on the internet because people will feel the need to point out this error just to make free promotion for this book in the process by creating mostly positive reviews as is nowadays happening on Youtube, where intentional errors are made to generate comments that in term make the video more visible due to way Youtube algorithm works by forwarding videos with more comments because the people behind this book present themselves with their work in a way which makes such error unlikely to be accidental but who knows..

Great Book for anyone joining the military or Cadets.
I’m part of the Marine Cadets and this book helped me pass my Corporals board. Great for general knowledge has lots of First aid, Map reading, Weapons, how to set perimeters around your camp, fire patterns rout card and a distance guide learner for section attacks. Making it a perfect book for beginners. I even recommended this book to other cadets at my unit and we went to a competition and we are the 3rd best in the uk and the best in Scotland!

Brilliant. A must for every serving Soldier
Brilliant.Left the Army 6 years ago after 5 years in the Infantry. Rejoining and retreading soon so wanted to brush up on skills and drills. This handbook is perfect. Everything you want and need to know if you're a serving soldier when it comes to warfighting and a convenient aid when it comes to the all too often forgetten abbreviations the Army will throw your way. It also includes information and drills often ignored or forgotten such as knots and lashings and even has a bit of phys in there for those in need of remedial! If you're a young soldier fresh out of training or you've been tipped off for Lance Jack in the near future then this book will be a blessing for you.
