This is a nice design, potentially better than the original.
This is a nice design, potentially better than the original. Seems stronger as well. Time will tell. IT was purchased from Amazon.com LLC, not a random reseller. Our original roller SHEERED off from the pressure of the spring. I can only assume a factory defect since mere stress caused it to break. It's been on my to-do list for 6 months and I finally got together with my body shop guy to get it installed over the weekend. We anticipated 20 minutes but it took an hour and a half. Part of that was due to tool problems. - NOTE: I had a misconception about this item. I THOUGHT that it was a Hinge pin, but it IS NOT. When you replace THIS "roller" pin, both hinge pins remain in place and you DO NOT need an additional person to hold the door. This was indeed the part that I needed, but it does not seem to support the weight of the door at all. THIS pin is solely for the purpose of holding the door in its detent locking positions, EXCEPT, it also appears to affect the door lock engaging correctly. We were having a problem with the door wanting to come open while driving which seems to have been resolved with the replacement of this roller pin. - The actual installation....STEP 1...My mechanic decided to make 2 CUTs in the old pin with a sawzall (tight fit). First he cut the middle of the pin, then he cut the top mushroom part. The pieces, unfortunately fell right into the fender (rattle, rattle, rattle). He took a couple of bolts out, one bolt inside the hinge area and another below, and the pieces fell right out. Trying to fish it with a magnet was useless. This is also a good time to clean out your drain area of pine needles and debris. - Step 2... The top post fit easily into the hinge. We had little success trying to hammer the replacement back in. So, he got his grinder out and shaved a bit of the edge off of the ridges on the bottom section of the Pin. He just kind of grazed the teeth a bit, a very light touch. Viola! The pin started and required just enough hammering with a 1/4" extension to lock it up into place. That was a key to success. Then, he installed the C-clip and we tried it out. It was perfect. He re-assembled the fender bolts and I was good to go! The door now shuts and locks properly and the lock no longer seems to get caught on the stud. The door now stays in its alternate opening angles. Apparently there was no problem with my actual hinge pins at all. - In conclusion: Nice Product, Nice price. - I do sense a bit of stress on the pin when first opening the door, so I intend to grease it up.

1995 GMC SIERRA PICK UP
UPDATE: I purchased another pin from another source claimed it will work, it did not. These fatter pins are for newer models. The only source I have found but not ordered for a 1995 GMC is from GMC parts online. But they sell in 5 packs over $100.00 I do not need five. So the search goes on. Don't bother ordering these older pins are scarce. Do your research narrow down to your specific vehicle. They look the same online but are fatter, I think they enlarged them because the older ones broke often. 1st review; Pins do not fit. Returned no problem, Look elsewhere-Seek and find I did. 95' GMC PU

Works well - with modifications
I'm glad to find that someone makes a replacement for the pin that inevitably breaks on older GM products. YTube videos mentioned having to grind down the ridge grooved area at the top of the pin section that presses into the steel hinge. I can verify this as I had to chuck the pin into a drill and use a file to smooth off the ridges. They increase the diameter enough to make the pin almost impossible to install without excess force. Filing off the ridges still leaves the pin diameter large enough to require hammer force to install. There is no way the pin can fall out since it also has a c-clip at the top. Just a heads up on the ridged section that will need to be filed or ground down.

Good product at a good price.
Bought this to replace the OEM one on my '95 Chev Suburban. It is ever so much larger than the OEM one and would have probably fit if I had removed the door and pressed it into place. I did not have a press and did not want to remove the door. I ground down the top and knurled part above the roller until it fit. Removing the remains of the OEM pin required cutting the peened end off and driving the pin out. It's a 'fun' project to maneuver the new pin into place and get the spring and indented part into place. If you loose the e-clip, it takes a 3/8 clip (ask me how I know). It works well holding the door open and seems to be built well. I don't want to replace it, but if it lasts 20+ years like the OEM one I can't complain.

Will fix 1994 S10 with modifications
Just what I needed. If you have a grinder and a Dremel these will fix a 1994 S10. They don't make these for my truck so I ground off the end to fit then used Dremel to cut e clip slot ended up being the perfect solution because the only thing I could find for a S10 was a whole hinge that bolts on and mine was welded so not happening. The key is to grind off just enough to fit in the holes and cut off about 1 inch. If you own the car they are for I'm sure they would be even better. Even though I don't I'm still very happy because my truck is fixed and was very affordable to do compared to having a shop reweld the whole hinge back on.

Be prepared to modify.
If you're trying to get this for your 1995 S10 be prepared to modify it. I had to shorten and weld mine to fit. and the bushings will break most likely. But it will fit if you make it.

Worked great, door opens and holds
Replaced the bent pin in my 1998 Chevy Z71. Worked great. Get the sping compression tool at the same time. Makes the job simple. I just ground the head off old pin off as it was the factory original and did not have a retaining clip at the end. Original pin was flanged at the head once in place to secure it. Used a Dremel tool, fast and easy. Pounding the Hinge Pin out and then back in took some effort, swing away. I took the whole door off because I replaced the hinge pins at same time. Door is aligned and closes so easily I should have done this a few years ago. Also used 88-02 Chevy GMC Trucks 4 Pins 2 Door Both fits GM Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit to replace the bushings and hinge pins. save yourself some time and just remove the door. I saw lots of reviews where people though the bushings were the wrong size. they are NOT. However if you leave the door in place on this model chevy it is too hard to press in place unless you have the door off. With door off everything goes in without bushing breaking and is sized to work.

Door roller pin
These are not the usual door hinge pin with brass bushings, these are the pins that lock the door in the open and mid positions. Hard to find anyone who stocks these, excellent quality and fit.

No cumple con las medidas correctas.
Buena calidad pero su diámetro es mayor al OEM, por lo tanto hay que agrandar el agujero por donde entra.

👍
Took some filing to make fit. I'm not sure how the rubber will fare out. Looks like a good product.
