after MUCH research -- love this kitchen!
I am one who completely obsesses over purchases before making them - I started looking at kitchens for my little girl in june and i finally ordered this one last week. It came 2 days after i ordered it - yahoo! Although i was missing one part, i was still able to put the kitchen together and customer service said the missing part was on its way.Yes, it does take a great deal of time to put together BUT there is nothing hard about it. I only used a little electric screwdriver and the tool that came with the kitchen. It took me almost 3 hours, BUT i was working alone AND my little girl (almost 2 yrs old) was 'helping' me the whole time! It was a joy, however, to get it put together and to watch her begin to play. The assembly time was not a negative feature in my book - I'm proud to have a fine quality item for my child and future children to play with. The kitchen is in my kitchen, so my little girl cooks while i cook. I feel that we have already gotten our $[...] worth out of it in even the short time that we've had it b/c she has SO much fun playing with it. At the end of EVERY meal now she says "all done eating....cook in kitchen...play" and she's down playing with her kitchen. The size is great - not too big, not too small. The colors are VERY pleasant - not bright, yet not too pastel (i mean, the colors are pastel, but not baby colors). I love that it has the raised burners on the stove instead of the flat burners. The kithcen faucet is very cute and realistic and there is PLENTY of storage/play room. I love that there are no noises from the buttons - such a great opportunity for learning and imaginative play.If i were to list a negative feature it would be these: the 'telephone' is not one that kids can hold - it's just painted onto the side of the fridge and the water dispenser on the fridge is just painted on also. I wish these two features were more realistic. However, we are thrilled with our purchase and would buy it again if I had it to do all over again.

Worth the price and effort.. absolutely love it !
If you are looking for an almost real kitchen for your toddler or elder kid, look no further. This is perfect for my 2.5 year girl and she absolutely loved it. The doors and knobs are very smooth and can stand rough usage. I like the full size refrigerator which could hold all of her play toys for kitchen as well. Lot of storage for keeping things tidy. Additionally the color combination is very perfect and the whole setup has given my living room a new cute look..The hard part: it has lots of small pieces which needs to be fixed in the right way for the piece to look as it is supposed to be. Me and husband took all of the evening from 6 pm to almost 10pm to finish this huge task, very tiring !! But the output delighted us. The instruction book could be in color which could ease a lot of confusion in finding the right pieces, itβs in black and white . We had to redo our screwing a couple of times since we had done with wrong side on some pieces, the pictures are not very detailed in the holes and other bends in the piece to help us know the alignment. We have done more than 10 ikea products and everything in our home is ikea.. none of them have made us sweat so much π.. wish the pieces and instructions could be better improved for DIY customers!

UPDATE----Great Kitchen but hours of assembly!
UPDATE: We have had this kitchen for 1 year, and I wanted to write an update on it's durability. I would say this kitchen is very well made, but cannot sustain a lot of heavy play. Our white insert trays (that pull out) have already broken off. We also had a friend over to play and he easily broke off one of the doors. I would recommend this item, but not for kids who are rough on toys.I did a ton of research and new this was the kitchen I wanted after seeing it at a friend's house. The main reasons I wanted this particular kitchen is (1) it was one of the tallest kitchens I could find. My 3 year old is on the tall side and she will still be able to play with this for years to come. (2) I wanted a big enough kitchen so that my 3 year old and 1 year old would both have plenty of room to play together. And (3) It has a ton of storage space so it can be easily cleaned up without having tons of stuff strew about. We just got this kitchen for Christmas so I can't really rate it's durability yet however a good friend of mine has had the same kitchen for 1 year and has had no problems with it. The only warning I would give it that it takes a very long time to assemble. My husband is very handy and it took us about 3 hours to put together. The only other thing to be aware of is it being damaged during shipping due to how heavy it is. The first time we received this it had been damaged during shipping so we had to send it back. The second one we received made it OK but when we took everything out of the box all of the knobs on the stove were broken. This was probably due to the packaging not the shipping. However, I called KidKraft the next day and they overnighted replacement parts to us so I was very happy with their customer service. If you are buying this for a birthday or other occasion I would just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to check all of the pieces before putting it together. Overall I think this is a great kitchen and I am very happy with it!
