Great Product for Cooling the Attic
Easy install. We use at one end of a straight 5:12 pitched roof above 1800 sq. ft living space; light grey asphalt shingles. Open bird blocks along all eaves, with an added 12x12" louvre at the other end, joining the garage. From day one it allowed crew to install insulation in attic without passing out when ambient day temps were in the mid 70s (this is near Seattle after all). Remote control has worked well; never an issue. My office is along the same exterior wall where the fan is installed, and at full power, I notice a humming noise but am otherwise not bothered. At lower speeds, that's when I get a bit annoyed and have to go full power or turn it off. Does its job well, good value, and cooler attic (and thus home).

I have waited a little while before posting this review...
I wanted to make sure everything was good and it worked well.Boy howdy. It not only works as expected...it is better than expected.I wanted to put the 20 inch model in, but my wall would just barely accommodate this one. Suffice to say, this thing SUCKS...literally. I put it up on full blast and the decibel level is on par with a 24" box fan, and that is a great thing. I installed the remote and temp control unit in minutes...and when I set it to what I want I know it is going to do a good job. Tested for 2 weeks. It is changing the air in my house so fast. I can crack windows all over the house just a little, and kick this puppy on and I have a steady gentle breeze. On full blast it is difficult to light a candle.I installed this as a Whole-House fan instead of crawl space or attic fan. It works great. Highly recommend. FYI. Energy draw on high is only 2 times more than a big box fan for a window...and this means I can get rid of like 4 of them. It will actually save me money in the long run.

Overall really good, one little bug....
I got this to help control the temp in my furnace of a garage. Got it mounted, set it up, worked fine right away (and it helps a lot). There is one problem with the thermostatic control I haven't solved yet. The fan tuned on exactly at the set point, and ran all day but then kept running for a long time after the air temperature dropped at night. I did some measurements with a non-contact thermometer 'gun'. The wall the fan controller is mounted on heated up to a max of 100 deg, as did the fan controller housing itself. But when the garage air and wall cooled down the fan kept running for several hours. Measuring the controller temp showed it was still 95 when the wall was back to 80. This is because the controller heats itself up due to electrical losses running the fan motor. So the controller cools down much more slowly than the surrounding wall and air. Therefore the fan is kept running for hours after the air is below the set point. I tried a small metal plate as a heat sink but it didn't help. I don't have a fix yet.

Finally A Fan That Cools Coop
I live in Texas and my coop has been so hot because the heat didn't have a way out. I installed this fan and set it to come on if the temp was 80. This worked like a charm to lower the temp in my chicken coop. Now I think I'm going to install a few in my attic.

Fan works well
Was easy to install. Remote control works well. Can control temp and humidity. High pitch noise at med and low setting due electronic controler. Noise not an issue in an out building but a home may not like the noise at low speeds.

Lasted 10 Months and thats all. They refuse to warranty it.
DO NOT BUY THIS FAN! THEY REFUSE TO HONOR WARRANTY.Haven't even finished making the 12 monthly payments to Amazon and now this fan is dead. I installed it roughly 6 months ago and its probably seen a total of a week of sporadic use here and there. I never just leave this thing running unless I'm in the shop. Was in the shop yesterday with the fan on its lowest setting when it sounded like the word was coming to a end. It sounded like someone suddenly stuck a stick in the fan, which is 13 feet off the ground. I didn't know such noises even existed. I ran over to the remote and was in a panic attempting to turn the thing off. It took a few seconds but I finally managed to do so. I got my ladder and climbed up to see what could of happened. The motor was very hot and it feels like the motor bearings went out. How? How in the world have these bearings went out in such a short time? I called Iliving to inquire about the warranty, and spoke to a female. She was not very helpful and very short with me. I don't want to say she was rude, but nothing like I would expect from a customer service representative. She said she'd check on it, and have to call me back. Well, no such luck so far.I then realized I purchased the Asurion Insurance when I bought the fan. I was so excited and thinking that would be the solution. Well, since its still under the supposed factory warranty they referred me to them. I quickly explained I've already attempted that route to no avail. The lady was very helpful but and started a claims process. However, it was for me to ship it off to a repair shop to have it fixed. Easier said than done. This is a 24in x 24in exhaust fan I now have to remove from my wall and ship off for possible repairs. In the mean time I have a huge hole in my shop wall. She has forwarded my request for a new unit to the appropriate department and I'm waiting to hear the results. I'll update this review once I find something more out. I'm just unsure about even putting another one of these Iliving fans up. If I had not been out there when this fan failed, I'm afraid my shop could of burned to the ground.UPDATE: Asurion was no help. Even after explaining that if I remove the fan from the wall, it will leave a gaping hole there for weeks! They insist on me removing the fan and shipping it off the be check. So, Asurion was a complete waste of money (at least on this type of purchase).iLiving was also no help at all. This is still in warranty and they are simply waiving it off as a installation problem, and refusing to honor the warranty. This thing is installed rock solid and they cant tell me what they claim is wrong with the install. They just simply say that's what it must be. I was a millwright for 10 years! I know what bad bearings sound like and this is what it is. They simply refuse to do the right thing and replace the unit. DO NOT BUY THIS FAN!Update:Iliving sent me a new motor after I purchased a new fan. Uninstaller old and installed new one. Realized the problem then. The bolt holding the fan on came loose and the fan was hitting frame. Now I have a extra fan and motor.

I don’t know why there’s any negative reviews
I was skeptical at first considering the low price. There were a few negative reviews on this. Several months later all I can say is any negative reviews must be from the one in a million manufacturing defect. This thing is a tank!1: Arrived exactly as pictured and described2: I installed it according to manufacturers recommendations.3: It’s very hot and humid where I live and I did not expect it to last.Boy was I pleasantly wrong. This thing has run 24 hours on several occasions without a hiccup. I’m very pleased with its performance 10/10 would buy again.
