Says it sinks, uh a quarter of it might
Bought this for the goldfish in my pond. Bought this specifically because it’s supposed to sink, and a very small portion does, the rest floats. My fish refuse to come to the surface to eat so that is why I bought this. Eventually it does sink so I guess I’ll keep feeding it to them but it doesn’t sink when you first drop it in.

They don’t sink
Fewer than half of the pellets sink when thrown into water. Many of them end up in the overflow basket of my backyard pool. Not what I expected from the description. I have no comment on the nutritional value or taste. Price is somewhat elevated.

Does NOT Sink
An otherwise good product, but 50% of pellets never sink.ALL goldfish food should sink to avoid swim bladder problems.Half these pellets do not sink ever; even after hours in water.

They really do smell awful.
My fancy goldfish (3 orandas, 2 ryukin, and a telescope in an impractically large planted indoor pond) get a mixed diet of pellets, steamed vegetables, bloodworms, and homemade gel food when they've been really good. I just swapped out their pellets from Fluval Bug Bites to these. They're a great size and they sink quickly, a necessity for me because two of my fish have swim bladder issues that flare up when they're surface feeding. My fish are somewhat less enthusiastic about these than they were with the Bug Bites, but they do eat them with no issues. Everyone seems healthy and fine with the switch, but my pond smells awful after feeding time- even with smaller handfed portions, even with my obsessive attention to water quality. If you spend a lot of time in the same room, you're going to get sick of it quickly. I ignored all the reviews that mentioned this and now my wife is mad at me. Be careful with these.

Product not as advertised
I have an aquarium where the filter skims from the surface of the water, therefore, I have to purchase sinking pellets. This food is advertised as "Sinking Medium Pellets" As you can see in the picture, the pellets are floating. The review asked if the flavor was good.... I'm not about to eat them to find out. But my gold fish are trained to eat the food that sinks to the bottom. They were down there in the gravel trying to find the food, but the food was floating on the top.

Not Sinking!!!
The description of this product specifically says “Sinking Pellet”.This is more of a “float on the top of the tank and absorb water for hours until it finally sinks as a disgusting larger ball of yuck”.Once it reaches the bottom, it has absorbed enough water to have doubled in size, making it way too big for the fish I purchased it for. It floats around on the surface for way too long and looks really unappealing.A simple packaging change stating that this is a floating pellet would fix this, but I wasted money on it because of false advertising.

I bought these because I wanted my goldfish to have a variety of food choices to choose from. I like this but my issue is the goldfish has an hard time eating them at first. The pellets have to stay in the water for awhile to soften up. Other than that I’m glad I bought them.

The best goldfish food I’ve ever bought
This is without a doubt the best fish food I’ve ever bought. I have several different types of goldfish, tancho’s, comets and sarassa’s and they all go crazy for this food. After only a couple of days of feeding them this food they were 100% more active. They were like little rockets shooting around their tank and they’ve strayed to grow in size. I would highly recommend this.

It sinks, Goldfish will eat it but it’s not the best
Sinks as described, Goldfish willingly eat it but it seems to make the water cloudy and clog filter. From my experience, if the fish poo is the same bright colour as food then it probably has a lot of fillers in it and isn’t readily digested. Filters clog faster and glass gets muddy.

Very Pleased
Came in good condition, my fish love it and because it sinks it doesn't cause bloating or swim bladder issues. This is especially helpful for my fantail Cairo who is prone to gulping air at the surface with flake food and bloating.
