New wide angle version of the very popular SCNC3905! Multiple viewers can see video or snapshots in any of the supported formats including H.264, MPEG4, MJPEG, and JPEG. With the included 16 GB MicroSD memory card the camera functions as a standalone DVR for motion detection or continuous video. Recording time ranges from 1/2 hour/GB to almost 100 hours/GB based on selected video quality. The camera can automatically upload recorded video files to DropBox or an FTP server or standalone network drive with FTP feature. This new version includes an indoor/outdoor connection box. The mounting bracket can attach to the top or bottom of the camera for maximum positioning flexibility. The required 12 VDC / 1A power is supplied by the included international standard 100-240V AC adapter. This camera can see up to 40 ft in absolute darkness with its powerful infrared LEDs. A wired or wireless router is required for operation. Access from outside the home network (LAN) requires internet service. Automatic setup for remote viewing requires a recent model router with the UPnP feature. Older routers, networks with multiple routers, or Apple Airport require manual configuration. Great product, however
Great quality product, works very well, solid construction. If you have a new model router or cable phone modem you will have no problem with setup. However if you have an older model router or AT&T U-verse with some of their cable modems you are going to have yourself a bit of a headache. I unfortunately had an older model. I am pretty tech saavy and simply could not get this going. Technical support however is really outstanding and once I got them on Monday morning they stayed on the phone and walked me through every step. Also be advised that if you are in an area with slow upload speed (different than download speed) your view video, and audio will definitely have a lag.Overall very happy but go in with eyes open. BTW I think the upload speed issue is not product specific any product from any MFG would have the same lag issue.

Awesome Technical Support!
Hello,This camera (SCNC3905-WIDE High Definition) arrived at my home two days ago. It has been very difficult for me configuring this camera even with my knowledge of computer networks. You will need help if you have limited or no experience with computer networks. With that said, Sharx has the very best technical support that I have contacted other then Apple. My technical support representative was extremely patient, kind, knowledgeable and informative. So far, the camera is working fine and the picture is sharp and clear.

It's a great camera but if you want a sharper image get the SCNC3905 standard version. I tried both and settled with the standard one as I didn't need the wider FOV and I needed to read license plates from afar (30 ft+).

One of the very best values around for an outdoor HD camera
Update May 12, 2016: The camera continues to go strong. I would love higher resolution often times, but for the price this camera is still a good bang for the buck. I LOVE how deceiving the wide angle lens is. I cannot count how many times a day people think they are out of view of the camera, but they clearly aren't. The wide angle is far superior for that alone. So many people stare at my camera and think they aren't being filmed. It's great.I bought this camera several months back even before it was technically available on Amazon and I have a lot to say about it. First off, I had some prior experience with the previous Sharx outdoor cameras when I installed them several years ago at a family member's house. Sharx has really improved the cameras over the past few years. I told them that I loved their cameras so much that I was going to write a review about them, so here it is.You will need some networking know-how to install these cameras. They are not for those without any networking knowledge at all, or at least not for those without patience or willingness for troubleshooting, as with most IP cameras. Despite how much most claim to be plug and play, you will need to be able to work things out on your own. It takes some time if you don't know exactly what you are doing. You may be trying to decide between this camera and another one by another manufacturer that looks very similar. I would highly recommend that you aren't fooled into thinking that saving a few bucks won't matter. Sharx customer service is by far and away the best technical support that I have ever, ever, ever come across. (I have been tinkering with PCs since the mid 1980s...) The folks (I think mostly guys) at Sharx are willing to answer any question you may have and they usually respond within 24-hours, sometimes much quicker. The technical support that these folks provide is worth the weight in gold. I can't say enough good things about them. Their patience, willingness and accurate information has just blown me away, and I am really a hard person to please sometimes. Their support is especially valuable if you haven't set one of their cameras up before, or any camera up before. Even though I had experience, I ran into some small hiccups with my network and they helped me work out the kinks. As for the camera itself, the build quality is top-notch. I absolutely love the wide angle 1080p image. I am getting 15 fps. It's so awesome that people have no idea that it is recording such a wide view...very deceptive. People think that because the camera is not pointing at them that it isn't catching them. I had to become very creative to pole mount the camera since I can't attach it to a wall. I ended up getting a PoE injector that Sharx recommended and it has worked out well. I'll probably come back and add more to this review as the details come back to me in time, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy this camera again. After running it on SecuritySpy on a Mac for a while, I have since migrated to BlueIris on PC.
