Quick read, some good tips
I’m torn on this book because I find the tips to defining your style helpful. However, I was put off by the various “archetypes” used to help visualize different body types/styles. The information about dressing to your body instead of trying to hide perceived flaws was good but, again, the archetypes (femme fatale, pixie, other stereotypes, etc) just did not do it for me. The “titles” given to her clients’ style boards were less female stereotypes and more interesting, imo.I was able to take some information from the book and incorporate it into my life/wardrobe. I don’t think this book is for everyone but a subset of people interested in color or style analysis may find it interesting.Disclosure: I downloaded this to kindle for free during an amazon/kindle promotion on the author’s page. A review was not requested. I would not have purchased the book otherwise.

What I love most about the book
What I love most about the book, and Rachel's work overall, is that it validates and celebrates everyone's body, exactly as it is. This isn't a book that's going to tell you how to "hide your flaws" or "maximize your assets," because in this world, there are no flaws and assets. The overwhelming message is: Your body is fine, right now, no changes needed. And then she gives detailed instructions and advice on how to dress your body to look your best. Reading it will help a lot of women to figure out how to maximize their visual impact, bring distorted body images back into focus, and empower women to reclaim themselves and their inherent beauty and power. Plus, it's a fun read with beautiful illustrations to boot. Like hanging out with a super cool, super stylish big sister/ fairy godmother who's bent on helping you get what you want out of this life. Highly recommended!

How to represent your business on video
The majority of internet search engines create more visibility for your business when you post videos and with the advent of better and better cameras on mobile devices (i.e. iPhone 7 Plus extraordinary camera lens) people will really get to know the real you before they ever decide to reach out for your products or services. What that means, now more than ever, everyone one needs an image consult. I have found that this book is a great way to start to revamp your everyday look to always represent your non-verbal style and feeling you want your business to reflect. It will also make packing for business travel a snap! Learn about your colors, archetype and wardrobe style all in one place. This book should be part of everyone’s business plan.

clearest most effective way to communicate an individual’s full potential is to dress her like she already looks like
“The simplest, clearest most effective way to communicate an individual’s full potential is to dress her like she already looks like.” In this book, Rachael explains how to find yourself within 10 different archetypes, and from there, create your own “signature style”. Rachel explains that presenting your best self is not about concealing your flaws but about wearing styles that are harmonious with your physical design (and goals). This book is will help you find those styles that work best with your body type and it will help you appreciate your unique look. This is a great book for anyone who needs to be camera ready but also for anyone who wants to discover a pulled together coherent look that will work for them on a daily basis and for any occasion.

Finally - Creating a style that is perfect for just ME
I love this book so much - it is giving me a clearer picture on my own style and on the shopping choices that are going to serve my overall wardrobe well. Ever buy a piece of clothing that you LOVED in the store, only to come home and discover it doesn't look quite as a good as it did in the store and actually does not work with anything else in your closet? This book has changed all that for me. I can assess right away if it is something that is going to fit into my wardrobe or is just something I'm drawn to, but not necessarily something I should be wearing. If you want a cohesive overall image for work, for play, or just for YOU; read this book and do the steps!

Style is so much more than clothing.
Why is it that personal style is so intimidating for so many people? Something that should be natural and fun can feel painful and overwhelming. This book solves the problem by making the concepts of personal style easy to understand on your own. Rachel gives you the tools you need to elevate your style so that it’s more than just clothes but something that can further your business and your brand.

Dress sharp, save money, have fun!
Rachel's process as explained in this book has improved my fashion life by leaps and bounds! She has taught me a whole new way of looking at how I dress and shop. Certainly I have saved a lot of money and time and effort shopping/returning. I highly recommend this book and even better if possible would be to hire her as your personal image consultant!

Finally
Rachel talks about style in a way that allows you to be more of who you are, which is a relief after a lifetime of reading magazines trying to get me to be just a hair different in every conceivable way. Her honesty about women's complicated relationships is refreshing. When she talks about growing into our style, it makes me excited to do this work. It sounds like a worthwhile (maybe even fun?) journey where the reward is not only looking beautiful, but feeling proud and amazing about myself.

How to effectively dress your uniquely beautiful body and face: pragmatic & empowering
Yes, this concise and candid book is gold for women entrepreneurs: the author brilliantly knows that is an audience with a laser focus on achieving a compelling, authentic personal style. But actually, 95% of the book is for any woman who wants to feel comfortable and confident in her own skin (to quote the author's website), and to look more gorgeous than she ever imagined was possible. Wants to fall in love with how she looks, and to forever turn off the insidious messages from the beauty industry that we are not good enough as we are. From Rachel's book: "If you want to create a personal style that expresses you to your full potential, there is really only one thing you need to do: repeat yourself. Simply put, that means that the colors, shapes, design lines and proportions that already exist in you, are the ones you must wear to bring out your magic. Beauty is not something that you need to source from the outside, it is simply what you are when you remove distortion or dilution."Rachel talks about how this approach to reaching your visual potential is different from the two main systems out there: dressing to hide your flaws, and "if you love it, wear it". As she explains, these two methods aren’t without merit (in fact, she has you exploring what you are drawn to), but in the end they are incomplete, and rely on some fatally flawed assumptions. In contrast, her system is built around the key that "you have one physical body, and that physical body has some finite qualities .... your physical person is an inherent and inextricable, and yes, authentic part of you. It also happens to be the part of you that we’re going to be putting clothing on." And she means who you are right now, at whatever weight, whatever age.For me, finding out about this system was an utter revelation. At 50, I finally felt like I was becoming the ”best, truest me” , and no longer wishing parts of me away. And there is now an amazing book – with pending online toolkits and videos, no less - as a comprehensive guide. Rachel walks you through the system in her very down-to-earth and yet rigorous way - first Discovery phase, then Implementation, you feel like she is right there with you every step. Though plenty of work to do in both parts. And while a professional is generally needed to learn which of the 12 colour families makes your skin and eyes radiant, this is not necessarily so for the body-type question: this book provides, at long last, the exceptional descriptions and tools that can guide you to figure out which of the 10 image archetypes you are. For each of Rachel's archetypes there is detailed description (with striking illustrations) of features, presence/energy, helpful nicknames, and invaluable information about what they each wear best, such as silhouette, patterns, tops, shoes, handbags - you name it. This woman KNOWS every aspect of wardrobe wisdom.Next is lots of pragmatic guidance and tips for the Implementation stage - including curating your wardrobe for your signature style, and crafting fascinating outfits. Rachel addresses what can scare so many of us: those crucial design elements of colour, prints, texture, design details and accessories. And shopping my god , shopping....She nails so much about shopping - our fears, our weaknesses...." the truth is this (clothes shopping) is a learned skill like anything else.... if you feel you’ve been failing at shopping so far, you’re about to learn a very different approach". Her years of experience with clients is so apparent: she says one of the single most important skills to develop as a shopper is to be able to recognize when something is working for you. We can fail to see it because of the body shaming ritual that is ingrained into shopping for so many of us. Along with the whole road map of this book, there is a very specific genius tip about "establishing your benchmark", to help you be able to see the magic when it happens. Read the book to find out!

Not recommended
It was based completely on Kibbe. Nothing new, unfortunately. It was not worth the read for me, also no pictures that illustrated concepts. Place at her website for further information is shut down. I can’t recommend it in good faith.
