Spartan Life Size Historical Shield

Better than I had hoped for! I'm headed to the Viking Experience in NC and didn't have time to build my own. This will look awesome in my Viking Encampment. Solid, good weight, and just as advertised. Great product for your Viking, renfaire , Larping, or just for your Armoury collection.

Very nice shield...do not listen to any of the negative feedback that one or two people have left. Shield looks very nice, durable, well balanced and not too heavy. It is lighter than you would think, but still very sturdy and looks great.I don't think you could buy a nicer viking shield without spending at least twice the money.

Great quality. Came very quickly. Some scuffing on the back of the shield, but that is a minor issue that can easily be touched up. Great shield. Great price for it! :-)

The product is good if you want it as a costume piece but has its negatives.The Good:>It is sturdy and durable enough for light wear and tear>it is a blank slate to make your own. (with a few exceptions)>It has a vertical grip.The Bad:>It is heavy holding it out with one hand for more than a minute is difficult.>The handle seems like it would be the first thing to break.>The shield has a large diameter making it hard to maneuver in tight places.The Ugly:>The shield is covered with a nasty tacky mahogany oil-based wood stain that rubs off onto other objects it touches.>If you want to paint the shield you must sand it down to bare wood and prime it with an oil-based primer but even then it might peel off.

Got for a friend of mine for his birthday. Just holding it in your hand makes you want to grab an axe and start swinging it. It came oiled with I believe linseed oil - will have to maintain that oil sheen I am certain. It looks just as good on the wall as it does in your hands. And it has a great constructed weight to it. You know you are holding quality.

Wonderful shield, has a very nice size that covers the middle of your body, is not too heavy and is made out of sturdy wood and metal.

A very sturdy shield, beware of the edges of the handles, they are pinch points. Needs a leather strap so you don’t have to hold it in your hand 24/7 while reenacting.
