Looks like there are a lot of "got this free" reviews. Did you actually purchase this thing and think it is worth every penny?

I purchased it! And just received it today (June 2023). I did a lot of research and this one showed up on a lot of 'best of' reviews online. It is a nice luggage scale--actually my first one and why didn't I think of this before? Sure takes the worry out of 'is my bag too heavy?' especially since fees are $100 for over-weight luggage (ridiculous!) I weighed my smaller bag and then I did the weigh myself with and without the bag and both were the same weight, exactly. Though I did get some different weights with the smaller bag within a few ounces when I weighed it several times, but likely because it was slightly off-balance. The larger bag was also the same weight within an ounce. Glad I ordered it! And at under $12, it isn't expensive. I feel I got my money's worth.

What kind of battery?

If you set it to kg and then turn it off, does it remember the setting when you turn it back on? Or do you have to re-set it?

I never noticed because I used lb. I can't check because the scale is in my suitcase. The suitcase is stored away. It is very easy to set kg or lb. it toggles back and forth. It should not be a problem for you.
