Apothecary 871893 Hydrating and Healing Shaving Oil - Sandalwood and Vanilla, 86g (3 Oz)

The first time I opened the bottle to smell this stuff, I have to say I was really disappointed. I found it to be overly strong and perfumy. If I were to sum it up, I'd say strongly vanilla and something very musky, and not in an entirely good way. I decided right away to set up a return -- no way I can use this stuff, right?Well not so fast. The following day, I thought to be fair, I'd give it an honest try. And to be completely honest, I'm still doing that. But what I've found is that the aroma DOES tone down quite a bit, both during and after the shave, and turns into something a bit more subtle. Still strong-ish, but more curious now than offensive. I find myself rechecking to see whether I've decided yet whether I like the smell or not. I think that in a more dilute form, I do actually like it. Go figure.As for the shaving experience... After a proper prep -- face wash, hot water rinse, rubbing about a dime size drop of oil into my face and neck, waiting 2 minutes, then whipping up some WSP sandalwood/black vanille -- I went about shaving with my trusty DE and a very aggressive Feather blade. First pass (WTG) was smooth and without issue. Relathered for a second pass (XTG) and found the experience equally slick and comfortable. No nicks, smooth shave, and the combined scent of the oil and the WSP soap was a winner.Bottom line: It's different, and most definitely not for everyone or every shave even. But it does what it claims to do, and it does it well. Considering the vast range in unit prices of shaving products out there, this is fairly reasonable. I may very well decide to cut it with some castor/argan oil to tone down the scent a bit, but I do consider it a keeper now. Cancelled my return, glad I showed a little patience.

It took a while to get used to the oil such as how much to use, wet or freshly dried face, etc. After figuring out it's about 7 drops it works great if I put it on my face while still wet and let it sit while I get my shave lather ready.

I've bought this for my husband who has to shave his thick beard every day. It does a great job softening and prepping his face for shaving. He loves the smell of it too!

My husband loves this product. He got sensitive skin and this product hydrates and helps to prevent razor burn.

Just the right consistency, and a good, non-feminine fragrance that is not too strong. The larger size is nice compared to most shaving oils. I rate it a couple notches above Shave Secret, its closest rival in my opinion.

In Verbindung mit der Rasiercreme desselben Herstellers ist das Rasieröl einfach ein Traum. Es fettet die Haut gut ein, so dass die Klinge sehr gut gleiten kann. Mit Öl und Creme erreiche ich trotz sehr empfindlicher Haut ein Rasurergebnis, das ich in dieser hohen Qualität mit anderen Produkten bisher noch nicht erlebt habe. Hinzu kommt ein Duft, der meine Vorstellung von einem Babiergeschäft vor 100 Jahren trifft und mich entschleunigt.

Meine erstes Rasieröl und dazu noch ein Volltreffer! also der Geruch überwiegen nach Sandelholz (Sandalwood) gefällt mir super! Es riecht angenehm männlich, aber nicht "nach altem Mann". Die Rasur geht ebenfalls sehr einfach, nach dem das Öl eingezogen ist (man sollte ein paar Minute warten).

Aceite recomendable para el afeitado ya que es mucho mejor que espumas o geles, no irrita la cara y tiene un olor muy agradable, con una pequena cantidad que la dosificas con su dosificador tienes para para afeitarte y tener la piel hidratada, seguro repetire

me encanta como huele, va muy bien con la barba de un día, pero si es un poco más larga atasca la cuchilla y resulta incomodo.

Sehr gutes Rasieröl. Schon alleine der Duft ist 5 Sterne wert. Rasierschaum ist nicht nötig, das Öl reicht völlig aus. Es hat genau die richtige Konsistenz und klebt nicht. Preis ok für 100ml. Werde es wieder kaufen.
